It does an excellent job creaming butter and sugars for my Christmas cookies and in less time than my old mixer. It mashes potatoes beautiful. The only reason I gave 4 stars is its size and its tendency to heat up and stop while I'm working. It takes up a lot of room in my small kitchen. I didn't realize it was so big before I bought it. (my bad) It has a tendency to not want to turn back on when I pause to add ingredients. The manual says this is normal and due to heating up. I did not have this problem with my last Kitchen Aid. I would recommend to a friend who does a lot of large recipes or bread.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted to move up from my smaller KitchenAid mixer and this does provide a greater size bowl to work with. Like the action to move the bowl up and down. The bowl is kind of hard to get into the right location with the back spring pushing against it, but I think I'll figure that out better. Biggest complaint is the noise. At first we thought it was broken it was so noisy. Thinking of opening it up and putting some sound dampening material in it but right now just living with it as it is.

We finally invested in this quality product and it has been used almost daily since its purchase. The kids have never had access to so many cookies! In all honesty, it is a well put together machine, and surprising quiet for a mixer. We are equally excited to start purchasing attachments and exploring everything this machine is capable of doing.
