I have had a 5 qt Kitchen Aid mixer for many years (at least 20). It still works fine, but I left it in my old home when I moved, so I purchased a new one. I'm sure it is just as good, but it is lighter, the motor has a hitch (slow) on start then gets up to speed, the switch is different for speed controls and the motor has a very different sound. I have only used it once so far, but it worked well.

I have used it many times and have always been very satisfied. It does a good job on thick or thin items and handles big projects very well.
