Sometimes you need to turn the switch on and off a couple of times to get it to begin mixing. The bowl is difficult to get on. It seems to mix okay, although I've yet to fine a shield that fits. I wish one was included. I purchased this to replace one that was around 15 years old and had a smaller capacity, and this one is disappointing compared to that one.

I had read several negative reviews but they all seemed to be by people that never read the manual or followed the instructions. I made sure to thoroughly clean the mixing bowl prior to using it the first time. Also made the needed adjustment as the factory setting was a little off. There are great videos on You Tube showing how to make the corrections and how to clean the bowls. Only mistake I made was turning the speed too high when adding flour. Be careful to just use the lowest setting. Have purchased a mixing shield and am waiting for its arrival to further prevent any splashing ingredients. I did have a small problem while mixing a batch of oatmeal cookies. I think the motor got too hot and wouldn't start? I gave it a minute, then it worked fine again.
