This one I bought in December 2016 for my wife. It has been used at the most dozen times for making cookies. Two times for bread. We started making a loaf of bread today and it wouldn’t start when first plunged in. unplugged it and and tried again. It struggled to get moving and when it tried to knead the dough you could hear And see it stop and go. That lasted about five minutes at the most and then the motor started smoking and burning. This machine never seem to work that well from the start. Now that the kitchenAid’s lousy two year warranty is expired it decided to give up and stop working completely. You would think and hope that a company that makes and sells non commercial products that really don’t get used that much in the common household would warranty them a little better then that. I’ve bought a few other household appliances in my time and they have had longer warranties up to five years. Word of advice for today’s cheap manufacturing. Buy the extended warranty!

I've adjusted the screw as tight as it will go, but so much of the mixing content gets lost under the hook/paddle/whisk. Dough barely kneads at all, creams barely whip unless you scrape down the sides multiple times.
