it's the perfect size for serious bakers. I can easily double recipes. I only wish it also tilted. It's a good investment if you enjoy baking.

I was excited when I got this mixer for 199.00. When i began to use it, all the attachments hit the bowl, the whisk attachment is now bent. My son got me a glass bowl for it and we were disappointed that it was unusable for this machine. It is difficult to get the bowl off as you have to unhook the attachments for the bowl to come off. This is an OLDER version, thus the low price. If you are looking for the newer version that is actually more useful as the top bends back and you can use several different bowls, expect to pay top dollar for the newer one. The quality is fair. They used to be better as when I was cooking in a restaurant we always had at least one to use. Years ago, they were made better, Also getting the attachments on and off is a pain. The silver cover where you open to put the attachments on, came off and it continued to come of every time I put an attachment on it. It is not that great a deal. If you are looking to get a kitchen aid, you should invest the money for a newer model.

This is a great mixer. I've done everything from breads and cookies to mashed potatoes. It's very versatile and powerful. It has metal gears (unlike the tilt heads). The 5 quart bowl has more than enough room. The Dough Hook is the Bomb! It does a great job mixing and kneading. The paddle attachment has no "sharp angles" so its easy to clean. AND the enamel coating makes them dishwasher safe.

This item was purchased for my daughter. We bought her one 3 years ago and it was stolen by the movers when she moved across country. She never informed us about that until she moved back so this year she gets this again for Xmas. It was a big hit.

Haven’t used it yet, bought for a Christmas gift to myself. Have to have something under the tree from Santa lol. Previous kitchen aid mixers I’ve had were great so I hope this will be too since it’s “mine” and not borrowed.

smooth running heavy duty machine, great for bread kneading

I ordered this product online and almost cancelled this order today while picking up because I had read reviews that the 450 watts motor and warranty "none" as specified on best buy site may not be adequate for heavy duty dough mixing. BUT the box was right in front of me on the shelf and out of curiosity I asked to look at the box and to my surprise it said 525 watts. I have brought the mixer home now .. to study more on this product. and try it out too ..will put more updates later .... Gave 4 stars only because of misguided specifications. Would love to hear on this from other users

Got this higher power 459 watt mixer. It stopped working. The gears slip. Motor moves but the stirrer doesn’t. We paid much more trusting this brand but now I lost all confidence. @kitchenaid please contact me to make it right.
