High quality worthy of Kitchen Aid brand
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say that I was impressed with this stick blender. I like the fact that the bottom portion detaches as this makes it MUCH easier to clean without getting the motor section wet. I was making sauce the day it arrived so I had a chance to use it immediately and cleaning it was a breeze. It may not seem like a big deal but if you've used one piece stick blenders in the past, you know what a pain it is to try to clean them properly. You DEFINITELY want to read the instructions and make sure the blender arm is correctly seated and LOCKED. I can imagine that some folks who don't bother reading manuals will end up complaining that it 'came apart' but if you connect it properly and lock it according to the simple instructions, you won't have this problem. In short; READ THE MANUAL!! It's very brief and worth the time to read the couple of pages necessary!! Also liked that it came with a blend container that's TOP SHELF DISHWASHER SAFE! Fits really nice in the hand while being sleek and professional looking. The build is solid and feels like it will last me a long time, although this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who owns a KitchenAid appliance. I have a few KitchenAid appliances including stand mixer that my Dad used for years and it's still going to this day. Motor is powerful and I liked that it had variable speed control, though it did take a little getting used to compared to single speed stick blenders or those with a 2 speed switch. But once you get used to it, it's actually quite a nice feature. I can't imagine needing anything more powerful than this; it chopped through ice quite easily when I was testing it out! I also really appreciated the included plastic guard to protect your cookware from scratches - a nice inclusion accessory that can easily be taken off and put on. I guess if I had any complaints at all, it would be that the blade area is a little difficult to clean, but I think this is a problem with all stick blenders. My suggestion is to buy an inexpensive battery operated vibrating toothbrush; I use them for tight places like this and the vibrating head works really well. All in all, I'm very happy with it and looking forward to using it more. I'd definitely recommend it.

Quiet and works well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: -Quiet -Variable speed This is perfect for making paste, dips, and whipped food. It’s easy to handle, quiet, and blended with an even consistency. Unlike my other blenders, this doesn’t leave a layer of unblended mix at the bottom. It has a variable button, which feels like 3 different speeds. You can buy more attachments, but an included whisk attachment would have been nice. Still another nice addition to my kitchen.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Due to the inefficiency of Best Buy's logistics nad fulfillment departments, I cannot speak to the quality of the product. Great hand blender!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We never had a true hand blender before, only a low to medium powered kitchen utility device with a "blender" attachment that barely stirred. This KitchenAid Hand Blender (a member of the KHBV53 model family) is great upgrade to that! The design looks simple, but it has a solid, high-quality feel to it. It is not light, but it is not very heavy. With the blending arm attached to the motor/handle, it is about 16 inches tall (each piece is about 8 inches, so should be easy to store). The controller button is right near the top. When running, the motor is fairly quiet. It is a fully variable speed motor (no specific number of speeds, so no separate speed switch), completely controlled by how hard you squeeze the button (so it makes it easier to changes speeds as needed). It comes with a 3-cup plastic blending jar (with a lid) as well as a pan guard to go on the bottom end (to prevent scratching if using in a pan). The power cord a decent 5-foot length (for the electrical outlet deprived kitchens). When using it, it worked great!! Most importantly, it mixed milkshakes perfectly with ease (even with some fairly dense ice cream with cookie dough chunks). It also had no problems with crushing ice. There are many other uses for the blender that we will eventually try out. We also have other blenders that we have made single-serve shakes and smoothies with, but one thing that this hand blended will help with is the cleanup as it is definitely a bit easier. And as a plus, it mentions that the Chopper and Whisk attachments that come with Model KHBBV83 will also work with it! Just not sure if you can purchase those separately though if you do not already have them.

great hand blender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.got this blender mainly for milkshakes and glad i did. it works great. a lot less quieter then a blender and a lot less to clean up. you can blend in your own cup or use the cup provided which also has a lid to store later. it was quick and quiet. and all you have to clean is the wand. using a blender you have to clean the blades, lid, and container. this, just the wand piece which detaches. feels great as well.

Fantastic hand blender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The KitchenAid Hand Blender is a fantastic blender, that is constructed very well. The box contains the hand blender, a 3-cup plastic jar and lid, plus pan guard. The jar is a perfect size for making shakes and smoothies, plus the lid keeps it sealed so it stays fresh. The pan guard, is a plastic piece that covers the end of the blender, so it doesn’t scratch your dishes. The guard works for the most part, but mine doesn’t seem to lock on securely. This has caused it to fall off inside the jar while I was mixing a shake, after that happened I decided to stash it away and not even bother to use it. Much like other KitchenAid appliances, the blender’s arm is constructed of high quality stainless steel. The 4 point blade is very sharp and dices extremely well. The trigger switch has variable speeds depending on how hard you press it. I decided to try and make a strawberry banana milk shake, to see how well this blender can manage to mix it. I sliced the strawberries in small chunks as well as the bananas, then added some frozen solid ice cream and some milk. I started off by gently pressing the trigger, so it went to the lowest speed, then I gradually gave it more pressure until it was at max speed. Not only did it dice everything up perfectly, but it also blended it together as it was mixing. The results, a perfect milkshake. Overall, I am very satisfied with the hand blender. The good constructed stainless steel arm and the 4 point blade, make up a great blender. Not only does it do a fantastic job at mixing, but also blends everything together very nicely. The added 3-cup plastic jar and lid is a nice bonus as well. My only complaint is the pan guard and how it fails to snap on securely, which resulted in it falling off in my jar while mixing. Other than that, I think this is a fantastic hand blender, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Simple but awesome all the same...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy recommendation here. We have a few other blender/chopping devices, but this has quickly made most all of them obsolete, especially when it comes to smaller tasks. Have used it for whisking/dicing even though it likely wasn't necessarily intended for the latter. Still, did what I needed and quicker than my old way of dicing. When making omelettes I usually add some heavy cream and some other fixings to a bowl then whisk. This handles the task perfectly and in an extremely quick manner. The pressure sensitive speed button is very welcome/handy as it helps keep messes to a minimum so long as you're aware the button is capable of doing just that. The blade end comes with a nice protective covering to help from marring up your bowls as the wand itself is metal. Speaking of the wand, it twists on/off from the motor easily so clean up is a none issue. Perfect for soup, salsa, eggs, shakes. Very simple product but it is made well and performs excellently. If the cord bothers you, go with the wireless one, but keep in mind that costs twice as much.

Solid powerful hand blender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Kitchenaid blender is powerful and easy to use. The look matches the overall Kitchaid line and blends right in with them. It comes with a blending cup, a cup cap, and a plastic guard to use on more delicate surfaces. The trigger is adjustable, so you can go from low to high speed at will. Just apply firm pressure to the button. Tried it making a smoothie and it went through fruit with ease. Ice was not a problem when used correctly. Per the manual just angle the device a bit and it will chop right through harder items like ice and create a flow with the keep cycling the liquid through the blades. For non-stick pans or pots, use the plastic guard to protect the surfaces. The cord length is good so you can get the device to your prepping area. The bender is solidly built. Just the motor on top and the detachable blade unit on the bottom. The blade unit easier comes on and off with a twist. The cup, cap, and guard can all be put in dishwasher top shelf, the blade unit must be washed by hand. Easy to use and power unit for making food in the kitchen.

A simple and effective appliance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hand blender definitely does what it claims to do -- pretty much anything you have a recipe to blend and it's definitely up to the task. Given its simplicity, to me, the best feature is the power button which doubles as a speed control. It's a bit of an intuitive process, but the harder you push down/squeeze the power button, the faster the blender will operate. There appear to be at least three levels of power as the button is pushed down, and while not difficult to figure out, as mentioned, it is rather intuitive to learn what level of blending you're after. In my view, this hand blender is definitely worth going after.

Nice Solid Stick Blender
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: This is a great Stick Blender, easy to use, a long cord and variable speed power button allowing for a bit finer control. For a stick blender I like this a lot. I appreicate the bottom comes off for easy cleaning and they include a pan guard, to help protect more delicate pans/containers when blending for scratching. Its a nice addition that allows the blender piece to keep to stainless steel. They also include a very study blending cup, which I found handy for making Salad Dressing quickly and the lid fits well too, so I'm not knocking it off in the fridge. I appreciate they also made sure the power cord has a decent length so I can easily reach pans on my stove without having to move them closer to an outlet. It is easy to clean because the bottom, blending part comes off, I think it is dishwasher safe, but I hand wash since, that is how I was taught. I do like the power button is variable speed, based on how far down you push. It allowed for me to have improved control compared other stick blenders in the past. When I used it to make a Jalapeno salad dressing in the cup, using the speed control, meant I could start up slowly and not splatter and slowly ramp the speed up as I required. From the blending side I put larger then normal chucks in the salad dressing mix to test and it had no problem smoothing it out and creating a dressing without issues. Overall I am very happy with this blender, it does the job with a long cord, easy to clean and has a nice variable speed allowing me get some extra control over the blending process. If you need a stick blender I highly recommend this one.
