The location and function of the controls for these speakers need a lot on design improvement.. Difficult to use with a desktop computer. The controls are located on the base of one of the remote speakers. If you set the speaker anywhere other than on your desk, cannot get to controls. Mine are on the floor out of the way. If you get a phone call no way to mute them.

I was very apprehensive while researching about this speaker set since I research all my purchases to death before I commit. A lot of reviews consisted of broken connectors, bad satellites, and no power switch. Well now that I have owned my Klipsch for over 3 Months I can honestly say I have no problems to this day. The connections are as solid as the first day I got them, and they sound just as nice. Neither of the satellites have had any issues. The first day I picked them up, I followed the instructions and set it up, turned them on, plugged in my cellphone (3.5mm jack works for aux devices too) and pressed play on my media player. At that moment my ears fell in love, the bass was very deep and rich, the mids were great and the highs sounded crisp and clean. Ever since that day, I have listened to a variety of songs ranging from country to rock, to hip-hop and rap. These have yet to un-impress me. The amount of bass that this thing pumps out is well worth the price, My room is about 12' by 13' and it makes the objects in my room vibrate at 3/4 on the sub dial and full on volume. With both dials maxed I literally have to cover my ears for fear of becoming instantly deaf, and I can feel the music in my gut. Don't be mistaken, at 1/4 on both dials I can still hear it down the hall about 15' feet away from my bedroom, with the door closed. All in all these are amazing for the price, I have no complaints what-so-ever, the lack of a power switch is odd but its easily overcome with a switched outlet/power strip. The volume is great, and the range is fantastic. I purchased a Black-Tie 2year warranty with these so I can blast them without worry of breaking them and being sol since the warranty will replace or fix them even if I popped a speaker during a fun night. :) One word of caution, the sub unit gets rather hot at high sub levels so ventilation is key for extended use at ear-splitting volume. I would purchase these 10x over at the price of $200 if I had to.

This 58 year old lady hooked this baby up herself and I am in audio heaven! What a deal for what a sound! Easy to set up, sounds fantastic! I have always known Klipsch quality and this system is just that, quality at an amazing price. If you are looking for a great sound at an affordable price, go for this system. The subwoofer makes all the difference for me. It was easy set up right out of the box, I got it delivered free right to my door. Best Buy does it again! Honestly, I've been around a while and this system is amazing. I will never buy another brand again. I don't dare turn the volume up the whole way for fear my almost deaf neighbors may think I'm nuts! Go for it, you won't be disappointed. And that's my very first Best Buy product review. Enjoy!

The packaging seemed OK on arrival, I followed the instructions for installation even though this is a simple task, but unfortunately the speakers would not work, not even a chirp- must have been a power problem for nothing to work, I returned them and purchased the BOSE Companion II series speakers, they are working just fine.

The sound is ok for the price but the volume control on the speaker is very cheesy and overly sensitive and the slight touch of it causes a great deal of static to emit from the speakers given them a really cheap quality, not typically associated with the Klipsch brand.

I was shopping for a nice upgrade to my Mac desktops factory built-in speakers after 4 years. I was listening to the Logitech Z313 at only $30 on sale at my local Best Buy, as well as the Insignia sets, Bose and the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. The Insignia sounded kind of cheap, the Bose is just not worth the money to me, and the Logitech seemed the best for the money, even though the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 was clearly the best sounding - at $155 for the set, it was out of my range. I was walking to the cashier with the $30 Logitech set when I saw a floor display with the Kplisch Promedia 2.1 on sale for $140, so on an impulse buy, I decided to go with them since they were on sale. I kind of wanted to treat myself to a nice set since I was treated everyone else for Christmas. Lol. First thing I noticed is the box for the Klipsch is three times bigger than the Logitech set! Anyway, I get home and hook it all up. Extremely east to set-up and the set is very well put together and attractive to the decor of my desk set-up. I turned it on and listened to some Jason Mraz. The set sounded great out of the box. Only thing I noticed was the bass was very loud and a bit boomy. It could be because the sub is located underneath my dek where the enclosure of the area may be acting as a bass enhancer in itself. Not too bad - just a little too much loose bass were it does not sound too balanced. Again, I am being very critical as it sounds simply amazing regardless. It does have a bass control knob right at the speaker, so it can easily be adjusted, but being an avid listener to music, I do not want to lose certain frequencies in my music, so I downloaded the BOOM app online which is meant to increase volume, but I used it for its built-in equalizer that can allow me to reduce whatever frequencies I want in the bass that can prevent the boominess of the sub, yet keep the other frequencies that make the music sounds so great. Once I set the equalizer to my specific needs, it was AWESOME! Absolutely perfect! I set the lower frequencies down a lot, then jumped up the mids and highs a little and WOW! I am stunned by the difference and it originally sounded so great! I saved my eq settings, then went back to the old equalizer setting just to compare and man-o-man what a difference! I HIGHLY recommend this set more than anything else in this price range - and even up to the $250 price range! Sounds amazing, looks fabulous and very reasonably priced. Not to mention very easy to set-up. I also recommend using an equalizer (download the boom app or similar, easy to do and to set) as this will really fine tune things to your surroundings and liking. You will be floored by the results as I was. Anyone not giving this set high ratings just does not what they are doing with the set-up. As far as the longevity of the product goes - time will tell. But a BIG thumbs up to a great set!

I replaced my Cambridge Sound Works with these speakers hoping to get similar performance from them. The loudness of these speakers were comparable but the bass doesn't come close to my old subwoofer. Took me a while to adjust to the lack of bass but Because of how loud they are, I kept them

So I just got home from Best Buy and hooked these puppies up and they sound awesome. I built myself a gaming desktop and have gone close to 6 months with no speakers and using only headphones. A few days ago I reorganized my desk setup and my tower is now too far away to comfortably wear my headphones so after pursuing various speakers online I settled on these guys because of their great reviews and after watching a couple of comparison videos between these and a few other brands. The bass is super strong, I have it set at about a quarter of the way and it sounds great. The highs and mids on the satellite speakers are crisp and clear yet still warm (I've had issues previously where I felt that they were too cold/mechanical on a couple pairs of Klipsch earbuds). I highly recommend these speakers if you're looking to get out of the entry level speakers.

You will never find better speakers for the price.

Unless you go out and build a custom audio setup with a receiver and speakers, you will never find a better 2.1 (or dare I say even the 5.1) PC speaker setup for anywhere near the price. Don't be fooled by the in store setup, these are even 10 times better than the Bose 2.1 speakers. Anyone who rated these any less than a 5 has issues and debates, and I would question their sanity. These speakers can get LOUD. 200 WATTS people, 200 WATTS. Those Logitech speakers... those 5.1 doo-hickies... wont even come close. At 1/4 volume, these speakers get louder than my previous Altecs (and not the cheap Altecs) did at full volume. Do not turn the bass knob past the white indicator. Infact you may want to turn it down. If having the bass knob at the white indicator is not enough for you, go to the doctors andhave your ears cleaned or tubes put in, because this sub delivers bass. Remember, these are for audiophiles. These are for people who love music, who want to feel their movies, who just plain want and know how to get the best sound possible. However, there are two things that will limit your ability to hear and understand how great these speakers are. The first being that you are just severely tone deaf and have no ear for good, proper sound reproduction. The second is a bad sound card. If you are going to invest in these, also invest is a decent sound card. On Board PC sound has come a long ways, you may not think there is a difference, there is. Invest another $50-$99 and get a SoundBlaster sound card from Best Buy as well. Spend more if you want, just get one. They have even better ones online as well. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. You may even decide to junk that wanna be pro audio home theater thing you bought and just use your computer for everything. I accept no responsibility if you become permanently planted in your desk chair.
