My second set of Reference...I love them

I have a set of the older 8" reference that I ran against all of the other speakers at our local audio house. They won handily. The horns are amazing. The imaging is perfect, and the bass is tight. We went to best buy and tested these against everything else they had in the price range and again, these ran away from the rest. I'm really impressed overall. I like the change of the port to the front instead of the rear. They have bi-amping posts which I haven't used yet. I do highly recommend.

Great foundation for a theater system

These are typical fantastic Klipsch speakers. Combined with the Klipsch center speaker and separate subwoofer, they make the finest home theater system I have ever had. Sparkling midrange and highs.

Best low budget speaker for the price

A few months back I purchased the Klipsch Icon KF-26. Right after the purchase these speakers came out. I tried the Icons for the remainder of my return period but couldn't justify the price considering I had a good feeling these new Reference speakers would be half price on Black Friday. So I've waited and I was right. Among my research I've wondered if these were just Icon speakers in a new box with new paint. Luckily I was wrong. This is from Alex L a Klipsch representative. "For those wondering, here are the differences between Icon and this new line of Reference. All new Reference Linear Travel Suspension tweeter design for smoother, more powerful high frequencies. All new mechanical woofer design with seamless dustcap for minimized mid frequency diffraction and distortion. All new Spun Copper IMG woofer cone is incredibly rigid, with new design adding structural integrity for minimal cone break up at high excursion levels. This makes for even cleaner, more accurate low frequency reproduction. All new Brushed Polymer Veneer finish is exceptionally durable with a much more contemporary aesthetic over the previous wood grain vinyl of the Icon series." After measuring my distances, checking my degrees/angles, calibrated to a 75db reference level with my db meter and crossover set to 80hz on my Yamaha 661, these blended well with my Klipsch Synergy III speakers (no longer sold at BB). I have a few dips and peaks around 120hz +5db and 500hz -4db. The 80hz crossover with my 12" sub is flawless. Everything else is smooth give or take 2db in my treated room. This is more than likely an issue with my room. Pushing them they start to have some colorization in the highs around reference level -8 volume level to 0 the receiver. For the BF price it's a go for sure. Don't trust the sound in the store. Every home and every receiver will give different results when it comes to home audio.

I've only had these for less than a month but so far these have been excellent speakers. I got them each for $175 on sale which was outstanding; I replaced tiny satellite Yamaha speakers I had for over 10 years and it really makes a difference. The room is filled with more sound and the added base also provides more realism and detail. I also bought a Klipsch subwoofer and center channel speaker; in the future I will upgrade the remaining four satellite speakers with Klipsch speakers as well. So far, I'm very impressed and I would recommend these products to anyone.

Got them today in Knoxville TN, the first wow was the clarity and powerful sound, Using a SONY receiver 700 watts, almost all the volume up all the way, nothing but powerful and clear sound. I am very happy with this brand, i did a lot of research and thanks to the nice guys at Best Buy I decided to buy them. Yes, amazing speakers for a great price. Thank you. Victor Sanchez.

for those who cant bear bright speakers

I have done a ton of research for a home theater without spending too much. Klipsch was always one of the options. The strength and weakness of Klipsch is its horn, its aluminium tweeter. The strength is that it produces "as is" sound, which is crisp and bright. The weakness is that some people dont like bright high frequencies, and they prefer a more musical tone, eventhough it may not be a perfect reproduction. Klipsch tent to produce high tones with aluminium flavor, whereas high end speakers use silk dome tweeters which dont. But entry level siik polymer tweeters dont produce accurate sound. Another strength is the higher sensitivity, which means there would be less load on the amplifiers. I have compared the Reference series R-24f, R-26f and R-28f. R-26f is the middle one. This produces nice rich sound. One advantage is that it is not as bright as R-28f, which makes this the ideal choice. R-28f has a better dynamic response and fidelity, and is far better for movies. For music i guess R-28f would be tiring for the ears, if used for hours together.

I upgraded to these from the Pioneer SF52s and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the difference. I don't have to turn these up as loud and you can hear more notes.

I bought and returned a pair of Klipsch Icon 6-1/2" 2-Way Floor Speakers a day after learning that Klipsch Reference Dual 6 1/2" Floorstanding Speaker is on sale, too. A very good speaker for half the original price. Love it!

I went into Best Buy for a receiver and a set of speakers to hook up my new Sony turntable. I saw that these were on sale and listened in the store and I was sold. So happy with these. You certainly get what you pay for!! Fantastic sound and base. I'm hearing certain parts of songs I've never heard before.

I have had these speakers for 7 years now, moved houses with them multiple times, they were even stores for a year and still manage to blow me away with quality sound. Whenever the time comes to upgrade these, i know ill be checking what klipsch has to offer.

I purchased a pair of Klipsch R26's to replace an old set of Bose that are obsolete. I was pleasantly surprised at how clear the highs are and how the Bass wasn't muffled from 6 1/2 inch woofers. These speakers are very efficiant and can be driven by most Receivers. Purchased on sale they are a great economical way to upgrade or add to any Home Theater or Sound System.
