Great headphones for the price...miss the S4's

I owned the Klipsch S4's for a number of years (2 or 3) before the cable finally wore out. Unfortuately, Klipsch had just replaced their line of S4's with these. While the sound is still generally the same (though I think it favors bass a touch more than the S4's did). Whilst walking, the cord does make some noise when it hits your body, however I don't notice it at all when I have the volume turned to a "normal" volume (around 50-60% on my phone). The one MAJOR flaw with this redesigned product is that they fall out...constantly. I am using the same sized tips that I used with my S4's, which would rarely ever fall out (even if the cord was tugged on with reasonable force; more often than not I would get hurt before they would come out. The R6's on the other hand...I'm constantly reaching up to push them back into my ears....constantly. Like, 2-3 times a song constantly (while walking). Additionally I live in Chicago, I take mass transit daily. Any time anyone bumps into me (and subsequently the headphone cord), it is almost guaranteed that one (or both) earbuds fall out. I don't understand why this is, but I wish Klipsch would figure out what went wrong and fix it.

    About that cable noise...

Day 1: Just heard new details on Electric Ladyland (loved it since 1969). My home speakers are electrostatic, so that's good. Great apparent frequency response and detail for $$$. When I have my R6i’s long enough to fully evaluate them, I expect my 4 stars to go up. About cable noise discussed elsewhere: It doesn’t have to be. To kill vibration from 95% of the cord, set the clip just below the "Y" fitting and clip it to your collar. Loop the cord through the clip if it’s too long. If you can make cord ruckus between your collar and ears, you're pretty flexible.....

Pros- really long tangle free cable klipsch crisp sound technology is there nice carry case with selection of earbuds Cons- Much more expensive than the s4i, which was beastly Doesn't sound same as s4i, loudness of music isnt great s4i perfect amount of bass, not too much not too little. R6i bass just too low Earpiece bulky, not heavy, just doesnt go into the ear and its pretty noticeable when u have the ear piece on I loved the s4i and ok come with r6i sure DONT DISCONTINUE IT THOUGH. they still have the s3 but come on the legendary bang for buck earphones s4i was so much better. Im trying to find an alternative for it

    Meh...

I was led to these earbuds by the claims of stellar sound quality. While these drivers are capable of drawing details and instruments from your favorite tracks that you'd never heard before, they do so on an incredibly narrow and unfulfilling frequency range. I had trouble finding the "thunderous bass" I had read about unless I pressed and held the buds into my ears. Any earbud is going to have more bass when you do this, btw, no matter the price tag. The highs are present but upper treble is non-existant. I've diligently made sure they're snug and fully inserted into my ear canal, tried all tip sizes, cleaned my ears, spent hours trying to find the perfect positioning -- nothing. My stock Samsung earbuds that came with my GS4 sound better, with the exception of providing a little less layering in the sound. This was surprising given the manufacturer's reputation and the $100 price tag. I think (hope) my ear canals are incompatible with these headphones and this just boils down to a perfectly good product being physically incompatible with my ears. Can't say for sure. A little about me: I've been an appreciator of good sound since I was a kid, though I don't feel justified calling myself an audiophile because I've never had piles of money to throw at equipment. I appreciate good sound more than I appreciate a brand name. I find the Beats line pretty laughable, if that tells you anything. I'm usually one to keep my opinions to myself, but this time I found myself disagreeing with all these reviews so I thought I'd offer my 2 cents.

These are a replacement for my S4's I'm gonna give the rundown on those first I loved them in fact I loved them enough to purchase another pair the day before I got this pair I accidentally drop them on a carpet surface and the headphone jack was damaged which doesn't say much for build quality but enough of me going on ranting bout those so far I'm impressed rich bass with a great quality sound even at maximum volume these don't have a distort sound I also love the fact Klipsch products don't succumb to trendy values like others such as making them look look like beats I love the fact as far as looks go they are all about the quality of sound nothing else as far as durability only time will tell.

I just received these a few days ago, and I love them! I had a set of s4i II's before this, and I'd say the sound quality is pretty similar. The new volume/phone control is a little bulkier than my previous set, and on the left bud instead of in the center. These are just things to get used to with the new set. Only problem I have with it is that much like the skullcandy buds, any movement makes a lot of secondary noise that will eventually get bothersome if you're walking or moving around. I use these at my desk in an office, so it doesn't bother me much.

These sound almost the same as my wired Sony MDR-10r over the ear headphones which you can demo in the store . If you like those you will probably like these . For $15.00 I bought the 2 yr extended warranty , well worth it in my opinion . I'd buy them again , balanced bass midrange & highs they sound nice but who knows whats coming out 23 months from now .

    Great IEM's

I'm a new audiophile myself owning ultrasone HFi 580, Sennheiser 598, Vmoda m100's. and some Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers. I was looking for some IEM's for portability. I'm not to familiar with other IEM's but was happy with these. Highs, and mids sound clear and the bass is great not overpowering anything else. I personally found the stock tips to be very comfy and these will only get better with burn in. If your looking for a good pair of IEM's I can recommend these along side some other audio technicas.

    Good Sounds, Awful Noise

Bought these based on other reviews. Needed some headphones in a pinch with a mic on them. The sound of these are really good, solid bass and a nice spread of treble. Music sounds great. The cord itself is a bit odd, it's a flat cord, which is good for not tangling, but I think it makes for a strong negative: The headphones sound like a stethoscope when there is movement against your clothing or other objects. This drives me nuts. There is a constant rubbing sound if you are moving your head while these are in your ears. If I had to buy these again I would pass.

    Klipsche Reference 6i earphones

I have had these for 6 months now and used them for calls on my iPhone when my Bluetooth ran out of power on the road and for listening to music and movies during flights. The sound quality is excellent, I used to have the 4i until my wife lost them on a trip back from Honolulu, these are their replacement. The stock ear pieces were comfortable and generally worked well but I found I got better sound isolation on flights with aftermarket foam based ear pieces over all I would buy again. These are comparable to a bit better than several other brands I have tried in this price range.

IF the earbuds stay all the way in, the sound is quite good but most times they tend to slip even when sitting at desk. It does come with multiple buds but even trying each set, could not find the perfect fit.

I received these ear buds as a gift. They are very comfortable to wear, and the shape doesn't make my ears uncomfortable. The sound quality is excellent as well. I would definitely purchase this brand again in the future.

I decided to try the Klipsch R6i after being let down by Skullcandy, Senheiser, Sony, and many others. The Klipsch fit PERFECT and are comfortable. The sound is amazing and they didn't break the bank. I will buy again.

    JUNK!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Why do people give the Klipsch R6i earbuds such great reviews? Based on the reviews and my previous experiences with Klipsch products, the R6i would be a step up at least from the stock iPhone 6 earbuds. WRONG!!! In my opinion, these should get 0 stars. Actually, considering I have to waste my time taking this junk back, they deserve negative stars. The marketing slogan on the side of the box states "Keepers of Sound". Klipsch must either be joking or trying to mislead the customer into thinking they will get something great. These are NOT great. They aren't even decent. They rank up there with cheap dollar store junk for sound quality. If you want thin, tinny sound at a premium price these are the ear buds for you. The original price was $99.99. Best Buy was running a sale at my local store and online for $20 off bringing the price down to $79.99. Honestly, I don't even think I would pay $10 for the R6i without feeling ripped off. Sadly, the stock pair that ship with iPhone are far superior. If you are looking for an upgrade, look somewhere, anywhere other than the R6i. Klipsch needs to seriously go back to the drawing board.

    Fantastic Headphones -- **BREAK-IN**

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

At first, I was seriously concerned as to why I purchased these headphones for $100. I actually preferred my FREE EarPods that came with my iPhone to these headphones that I heard rave reviews about. Right before I decided to make a rash judgement, I remembered something that a review had mentioned previously about these types of headphones. It mentioned something about a "break-in" period. Therefore, at around 10am one day, I plugged in the headphones to my small iPod & let it play in a drawer in my room on a decently high volume. By about midnight, I had forgotten all about them & collected em' from the drawer. To my surprise, the headphones sounded NOTHING like they first sounded like. Seriously... I was awestruck. Long story short... THESE HEADPHONES NEED TO BE LEFT WITH AN IPOD ON PLAY!!! Now, (to my surprise), these may very well become my primary set of headphones :). On a side note, I opted for the WHITE version that I had to purchase online. The Best Buy near me had the black version, but I liked the white version so much more that I waited an extra two weeks for them to ship to my house. I would highly recommend carrying the white version as well.

    Poor quality, poor customer service

I received these well reviewed ear buds as a birthday present. Not expecting top of the line, but after spending $100 you'd expect decent sound quality. Not to be had unfortunately. Making matters worse, the left ear bud is now out of commission after using them 10 times (at the most). With the well respected name of Klipsch we didn't buy the extended warranty program so, on the day I received them (as a present), they were already outside the 15-day window where Best Buy would do anything. "You have to go directly to Klipsch" was the deadpan response I received. Poor quality product, poor customer service at Best Buy Freehold.

Wanted to like them, but couldn't overcome issues

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought a pair of Klipsch R6i earbuds to replace my Apple earpods after experiencing a volume issue in one speaker (an apparently common issue). The price wasn't bad, and I've always enjoyed Klipsch products, so it came as a surprise to me that there is almost nothing I like about these earbuds. The build quality is adequate--they don't feel junky or cheap--but the choice of cord material (a type of rubber with a rough finish) causes it to cling constantly to my shirt, the edge of my desk, and any other surface it contacts. The result is a near-constant series of vibration noises that make their way up through the cord to overwhelm whatever audio is playing through the speakers. It feels as if I'm underwater--while carpenters install a deck overhead. In addition, the clingy nature of the rubber threatens to pull the buds from my ears if I so much as turn my head or shift without adequately preparing the cord for the upcoming movement. The sound quality is great, and when the pads are properly sealed (and you are completely motionless), outside noise is effectively nullified, so even phone conversations are crystal-clear--just don't walk or turn your head too much, and forget about performing ANY kind of physical activity unless it includes plenty of opportunity to replace the earbuds which invariably get tugged out of your ears.
