Older Klipsch Subwoofer was much better

Not as good as my older 400W Klipsch Subwoofer that the amplifier blew up on. This Subwoofer has some reverb feedback, it's front firing instead of down, and the cabinet is cheap veneer, whereas my older Subwoofer had a heavy, well built cabinet.

Instructions are poor. Speaker needs adjustment to optimize sound but it doesn’t say what to do adequately. I’ve had my receiver turn off at points during movies during loud moments.

This subwoofer was not as good as my 10in klipsch i had purchased years ago. I would recommend purchasing a martin logan instead or the next series up from the reference series.

I just bought this sub on a pre-black Friday sale for about half price and at first it seemed okay and at least worth the half price amount but having it just a couple of weeks and I start noticing a rattle on the inside and now the sub is rattling like the dust cover is loose or something. I unscrewed the sub and pulled it out and looked inside and they do have some bracing but it looks like the whole box is held together with hot glue and I think that's what I heard at first is the box rattling from voids in the glue

I feel the 200 rws rated amp is under powered I own a Sony 12” with 200 rated amp That has a lot more bass than this one, they just Don’t make it no more lol Klipsch makes this in a 600 watt - 300 rws I wish I would had tried it, this has fair sound But not the thunder bass I wanted.

Installation was flawless, however the tech was not. He (Brian) would not show me the settings he changed on the tv or the dennon reciever fot the remore settings. he told me had to read the manual, he said he was not herer to teach me about the sysyem and he was through. I think he stayed to long at this job & was late to the next. Had A smart atitude I DO NOT WANT HIM BACK TO WORK ON MY SYSTEM!!!

A good budget sub for a small home theatre, but not recommended for any serious music listeners. The cabinet is light and a quick knock on it with the hand reveals a hollow "thunk" sound. It was amusing for a while on sale at $249 but it is already back in the box and ready for return.

I was disappointed at first because it wasn’t as ‘bassy’ as I wanted. But after a week,I’ve come to enjoy the subtleness of it. It doesn’t overwhelm the room and complements my Klipsch towers perfectly.

    Great sub, but has limitations

Bought two on Black Friday since they were 50% off. I'm using them with a Pioneer Elite Sc-95 receiver, Klipsch RF-83 mains, RC-64 center, DefTech BP7002 rears and 2 Klipsch CDT5800 III (for Atmos). All speakers set to small with crossover at 80. I am also running LFE to the powered subs in the BP7002 though. I used these to replace dual DefTech Supercubes that were showing their age. These things absolutely destroy my supercubes in terms of overall loudness and quality in general. My old subs were at +2 on receiver and about 50 gain. I've got these subs at -12 on the receiver and maybe about 20 on gain and they're definitely putting out significantly louder bass. After dialing them in they're pretty tight. I haven't noticed any port noise though, which is good. I tested to see how low they'd go and anything under maybe 27 Hertz really starts to drop off. At 30 it's still very loud. By 25 it's significantly less output. By 20 it's almost non-existent. Appearance wise they're very nice. I like the green power indicator that's visible through the grille as opposed to being in the back. Detachable power cord is nice as well. However, I would say Klipsch has really dropped the quality of the black Ash wood veneer since the original reference series came out years ago. It's definitely not matched to my other speakers. Overall I'm giving a 4. At 50% off they're miles ahead of anything else in the $250 range. At $500 they're still very good, but you're getting into a price range that you could pick up an SVS or HSU for a bit more and get an entirely different class of sub. Bottom line if you're an average person looking for a nice, loud bass that's plenty deep for most movies and games, they're great. If you're looking for a sub that's gonna shake you down to 18 Hertz because you're a true audiophile, this isn't it. They're just in a weird price range where it's not a cut and dry decision.

had this barely over a year and its sounding like muddy weak crap now, klipsch used to be a high end brand with qaulity now i cant believe how crappy it sounds after this short of a time, bad enough the last sub i got from best buy, boston acoustic lasted 2,5 years beefore it dies i expected way more from klipsch,, i never push it, hardly listen to any music and keep the setting flat, never had to adjust the sub level on my amp but now i can go form 0-12 and it barely makes a difference except its sounds a little louder but muddy not clean ground shaking bass like it used to very dissapointed
