Good sound, poor remote performance

We have tried 3 remotes, one that came with the unit, a 4K Apple TV remote, and our DirectTV remote. In all cases we get the same result, poor remote range. These same remotes have no issue controlling the TV, Apple TV, or Direct TV box and all devices are located together (unblocked). It is really frustrating because our typical seating positions (directly in front of the TV, about 15' away) do no allow for volume adjustment more than 50% of the time.

Ok speaker
