I think I should hv chosen smaller speakers which are easy to mount. I think sound quality is average on these speakers.

Ok entry level speaker. Not much bass. Midrange was nonexistent. Typical entry level Klipsch. The highs with the horn tweeter were hard to listen to after a while. Returned and went with SVS bookshelves. Much happier.

    Not for Music

Very nice looking speakers and the specs look good but were somewhat lacking. I bought a pair to replace my current ones. Primary use is for listening to music played through my Marantz receiver at a conversational volume. I used a cd with mandolin, fiddle, cello and bass for a test. Highs were tinny for the mandolin and thin for the fiddle, could only faintly hear the cello and the bass is non existent. Even if used as part of a home theater system these speakers wouldn't do the job. Perhaps if one cranked up the volume and didn't have neighbors they would be fine.

These Klipsch Reference Series R-51M - 5-1/4" 340-Watt Passive 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers not only look elegant and modern, but will most assuredly compliment your home’s other electronics decor. Yet it is their impressive performance which delivers all you could ask for from this type of speaker component. Klipsch’s bookshelf speaker’s incredible acoustics boasts dynamic natural sound, and powerful bass. Their Tractrix Horn technology brings forth rich, vibrant tones. The titanium tweeter on these Klipsch speakers handles high-frequency distortion well - softer sounds are clear, while the louder sounds are strong and true.

I returned these speakers because there’s not enough base. I wouldn’t recommend if you like base a lot of base coming out of your speakers. Too bad they were 1/2 price and a good brand.

Great bookshelf speakers for any function

These are great! I really love the versatility of bookshelf speakers. You can use them as surrounds. You can use them as fronts. If they're good enough, you might even be able to use them as main lefts and rights. I really feel that these are as good as some floor standing speakers that I have seen. I got these to replace some old Polk Audio bookshelf speakers. Those speakers weren't bad. They played wonderfully for years. These are the new kids on the block. Granted, you do have to go through that "break-in" period. With time, those lows and highs really start to shine. Some people might describe the initial highs as shrill but that disappears with time! If you use them as surrounds, make sure you keep the speakers pointed at the ears. There's a sweet spot in my home theater that really is the center and I love that spot. The immersion is priceless. All in all, I really like these speakers!

I have never been a fan of Klipsch, I have always found them too bright and rather fatiguing... But, I saw more than a few audio reviews on these and just had to hear what all the buzz was about. I saw they were on sale, so I pulled the trigger. I hooked these up to the SVS SoundBase amplifier, 150w per channel x 2, these Klipsch speakers really sounded good, I was streaming off of Tidal. I have the SVS Ultra bookshelves, and the Klipsch hung with them. The SVS are $1000 speakers, and I was really impressed with what Klipsch has done here. The range on the Klipsch was incredibly good, they really filled the room, not to bright and not to warm, and that fatiguing Klipsch sound was nowhere to be found. They never flinched when I put the juice to them, they will play very loud without distortion, very impressed. On low to moderate volume, these really sound nice. One thing though, you do need a sub with these, do not expect major bass out of these. For the money... Well, let's just say I am keeping mine. If you are putting together a 5.1 or 5.2 system, for the money, I would seriously look at these with the center and the surrounds. I think these are an incredible bargain for the money. Like I stated, these kept up very nicely with the SVS Ultra speakers. I could hear the difference in the mid range, but still, these sounded fantastic with everything I through at them. Would I replace the SVS with these, no, but these are close, very close in sound. You will not be disappointed if you purchase these. Klipsch really knocked it out of the park, especially at this price point.
