Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the exceptional sound quality, particularly the impressive bass response, of the Reference Series Dual 8" speakers. Many also praise the speakers' power handling capabilities and value for the price. However, some customers note that the speakers are large and heavy, and a few have expressed concerns about the durability of the feet. Overall, the positive feedback on sound quality outweighs the negative comments regarding size and weight.

Bought These Speakers Hoping they would match my Klipsch KF-28 floor standing speakers but they sounded much lower and the highs were not as clear sounding as my old klipsch speakers.maybe they have to be broken in first to sound as good .

    Amazing speakers

I would rate these higher if I could as they are outstanding speakers. The sound is amazing and they blow away the Bose 601 series III speakers they are replacing. The clarity, sensitivity and power of these are very impressive as I now hear sounds I never heard before from the Bose and when you crank these things up they deliver outstanding results and rock the house. They look great, provide outstanding sound, vocals, instruments, and bass are just fantastic and they are a great value for the money. You could pay way more for others but there is no need to really. Best Buy should have these set up in the Magnolia room and let them shine against others for a fraction of the cost. I am running these currently with a 26-1/2 year old Yamaha 80w receiver but will be updating soon to a more powerful and modern receiver (Yamaha or Marantz) to take these impressive speakers to a whole new level.

I originally had the 620f's as my fronts and they did awesome. Then, I saw the 820's on sale for 1/2 off...and jumped on it! Although they are large in size, their sound is larger! I moved the 620's to the bedroom, and the 820's are now the fronts ;).

These speakers are awesome…Some of .the best I have ever heard….. What is horrible is Best Buy’s customer service system. Easily the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I ran my own business for 30 years and would have failed miserably if I was anywhere near what Best Buy is. I will never use Best Buy again.

Very nice sound for a passive speaker. 3-Way would be probably more accurate and crispy. Anyway, better than expected.

Replacing my old DCM series 2 KX12 speakers with these, did not even come close. They do sound good for what they are. But in comparison, they fall flat.

    Poor tweeters

I blew the tweeters after one year with a Pioneer Elite that claims 80 watts per channel. Also, Best Buy website says they are 600 watt speakers, but on the rear of the cabinet it clearly says the main is only 150 watts. The mids and tweeters are one unit and are a horn, making it very hard to get them to sound decent.

for me, just like a lot of others i’m sure, speakers are a very subjective purchase. some might purchase based on sound quality alone. others might do a ton of research and pick the best rated ones. still others might pick a speaker based on its visual design. i don't personally care about accuracy or design so much as how a speaker makes me feel when i listen to music or watch a movie. i can say this much about these new Klipsches…they have replaced my Polk RTI-A7 speakers in my home theater, and it was a relatively easy choice. of course it’s a matter of personal taste, and some will swear by the Polks. i do love them, but as soon as i fired the Klipsch floors up i knew i had a winner. for home theater, they sound absolutely amazing. tight, punchy, crisp, and of course plenty of volume. good: -sound quality - wow. i come from a long history of Polk speakers, this being my first Klipsch. i’ve never heard highs like this before, almost sparkling they’re so present, and not in a fatiguing way. these have been an amazing addition to my home theater. the previous Polks were great, but these feel and sound so much like an actual theater i sometimes forget where i am! -room filling body from top to bottom - the tweeters and mids feel perfectly balanced to me. nice fat center to the sound, and in a fairly large room there is plenty of volume and “presence” to go around, without feeling like they’re being over driven. -clarity - did i mention the highs? absolutely crisp and wonderfully balanced from top to bottom. bad: -none for me misc: -the copper woofers - you’ll probably either love them or hate them. either way, i keep the speaker grills on so it makes no difference to me. overall: absolutely love these speakers, especially for my home theater. easy 5 stars for me, especially for the price.
