I’m a huge fan of classic monster movies, more over, the giants of cinema. King Kong is on full display and this movie puts the viewer right in the thick of it. The action is fast paced and Kong is brutally effective at dishing out justice. The cast is varied with no shortage of veteran screen presence and the CGI is high quality. It’s a fun movie that entertains. The 4K transfer and HDR make this a definite pick up.

I was so pleased to know that this would include both 3D+4k discs for a relatively affordable price. Many studios are now forcing buyers to choose one or the other, or pay the premium of two $30+ packages to obtain both 3D+4k. Let's hope this is a sign of things to come, with BB leading the way on more. Quality wise, the steelbook is nice, and the A/V on both 4k and 3D is top notch. Can't wait to get the Guardians 2 exclusive

Blu ray quality is amazing and the Dolby Atmos on my LG CX speakers sounds great. Just imagine with an actual soundbar system with Atmos it would be thumping. It's a little disappointing that the picture is HDR only as opposed to Dolby vision but the picture is still great. Excellent watch before Godzilla vs Kong.

For those who haven't seen this movie thinking it's just another Kong movie you will be pleasantly surprised. For those wondering if 3D makes it better my opinion isn't as strong but I really enjoyed seeing the helicopter scenes and the fighting scenes in the depth of 3D. The dialog is fun and the story moves at a great pace. The soundtrack is also great and fits the era of movie. This movie exceeded all my expectations!

Like this movie a lot. This film's story is totally different from 2005 Peter Jackson's King Kong, which is very similar to the 1933 and mid 70's version. John C. Reilly provides comic relief and it's done seamlessly, I think of what Jar Jar Binks should have been. The film is entertaining, has characters you sympathize with, monsters look realistic. Watch out for the post credit scene. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This is the King Kong we were awaiting for. No disrespect to Peter Jackson's King Kong movie-it was a great movie, but he made King Kong so small, almost like King Kong's mini-me. This King Kong in Kong Skull Island is massive, like the size of Godzilla. Kong battles many and massive creatures. Also, has a great all-around cast.

I loved the fact that this movie Kong Skull Island was a new story , not the same story like Peter Jacksons masterpiece, that said this movie was better ! Not a remake a new story , leading up to the Kong vs Godzilla movie due out sometime around 2019 ! To watch this in 4K was fantastic to say the least! Get and watch this movie and see if you don't agree! Plenty of action, new monsters, and a lot of great fun!!

The director of Kong brought a new take to the Kong tales without having to use a woman he has captured with everyone trying to save her. It talks about the chain of animals on an island. How they take care of each other. And the local inhabitants who respect that. Filmed in Austrailia, Hawaii and Vietnam, the photography is fantastic with beautiful high mountain peaks and valleys. Recommend with awesome actors.

I buy steelbooks to add a bit of quality to my BluRay collection. I love the more durable cases and quality cover art. Kong: Skull Island is no exception. The image on the site doesn't do the colors justice. There is a smooth matte finish so there is no glare or plastic-y sheen to make it look cheap. Fits in nicely with my collection. Only downside is that more and more of these steelbooks don't have a non-4K option, meaning if you don't want to drop $35-$40 you are out of luck.

Starts out a little slow if you intend to buy the 3D version You might just watch the Blu-ray until the action starts. Very cool effects.

This is a scary but thrilling movie to watch. I don't know why but this movie was a helluva better one than KONG that was released back in whatever year that was. This Kong was more aggressive and tougher. He made sure that if anyone came into my yard, they were gonna be dealt with. Now for the next one which is sure to be a more thrilling sequel. No spoilers here though so stay tuned!

A must for the Daikaiju or Giant Monster fan, a new origin story for King Kong, second in the franchise of giant monster movies started with Godzilla and will remake the classic film of King Kong vs Godzilla in 2020. The film has a good story and awesome effects. Kong is done in more of creature than a giant gorilla in both behavior and appearance, the ancient God and protector. Excellent popcorn movie!

I think that this is a very great movie! Special effects has come a long way since the first Black & White King Kong movie; the CGI was very impressive. A great story - - and it also involves Monarch, the company that had something to do with the 2016 Godzilla. The acting was very good - - Mr. Samuel L. Jackson did a really awesome job. Loved this movie! A different take on a King Kong movie. Loved it!

I was very disappointed with the last Godzilla movie. He was barely in the thing until the end except for glimpses here and there, and a shot in the background as some footage played on the news. Skull Island is exactly what a monster movie should be. Big monsters beating the tar out of each other and killing a bunch of guys. The 4K picture is crisp and vivid and the blu ray is no visual slouch either. A definite buy if you want to show off your entertainment set up.

I was very impressed with this take on the classic movie. Not quite as long as the last adaptation, this kept the great ape solely on his island, providing for a mix of crazy creatures and a people straight out of National Geographic. I loved this movie. Language is mild, though has a few of the more vulgar words in it. Violence with only a little sensual content, mostly in the beginning.

One of my favorite monsterverse movies. The cast is top class I mean samual l, hiddleston, Larson, and goodman you can’t go wrong. This is also Kong as you have never seen him before. He is a teenager in this movie discovering his past and learning his power. Did I mention he is MASSIVE!?!? A great watch!!

This Kong movie is a 180 from the first one not to long ago but it was still pretty good. This Kong is bigger, meaner and a heck of a fighter. Samuel L. Jackson puts on his best vengeful performance and will not leave a man behind. John C. Reilly is awesome character in this movie and provides the humor you'll love. This is a great action flick with surprise monsters you've never seen before.

This is NOT just a re-hash of the old King Kong movies of the past. Totally different plot. And MUCH better! It starts out with action and continues thru the movie. The CG is excellent and is well done. Kong is the most realistic he has ever been on the silver screen. I could go into a lot of what makes this the best Kong movie, but that would spoil the movie for you! Just get it and enjoy it!

Really am glad that Best Buy is offering 4K and 3D combo's. Especially when a standalone 3D release is either not made available in the US or is more expensive. As for the movie, it looks amazing in 3D. For some stupid reason it looses the awesome audio track from the 4K version, and is stuck with a 5.1 version. Overall I really loved the film and cant wait to see the Monster Universe grow.

I love watching 3D movies on my TV. I'm one of the lucky ones that still have a 3D tv. I do want a bigger tv but they don't make 3D tv's anymore. So I'm stuck with it until it dies! An LG 55"!I've had it over 7 years and still playing like new!Only difference you don't get updates anymore. But everything still works!
