What an awesome movie! Love the new storyline and how it all unfolds. Kong is King for sure! Love the added scene after the credits! As for the steelbook, I would have liked some embossing for a 35 dollar steelbook, but 3 discs and no massive 3D on the front cover is a winning combination! Steelbook looks rather nice as well! I would consider this a must have.

at first i thought it was really a good movie but after i saw it. it just ok for me but i still recommend to watch it

I buy these blu-Rays such as this one because of the special effects, never expected the storyline to blow me over. But this was a surprise! A different spin on the big ape story and Kong stayed where he belonged in this story, Skull Island! Lots of action, eye candy, dinosaurs fighting each other, and yes, a decent storyline to keep you interested inbetween things blowing up and Kong getting upset. Worth a look!

Some sections of this film may have been improved upon, but overall I liked it. This movie is what I had expected but I didn't know if it would be a sequel, a prequel or an entirely new film. Not a prequel More modern than the last KONG Entertainment value was good Plot (get there first?)--does there have to be one, I just get caught up in the action with this film. I'm sure the plot could use some work.

Legendary is putting together the ultimate main event of Godzilla v Kong. I am a huge fan of all iterations of King Kong (1933, 1976. 2005, and 2017). I grew up watching the original King Kong at Thanksgiving with my father and now I carry that tradition. I will probably still watch the original but will use this one for the kids. My children loved this one.

Great special effects & really good movie if you can get through Sam L Jackson, I'm with Ted the bear on this one, it's 2017 & he's still in about 30 percent of all the movies. There's a lot of good black actors out there so give someone else a chance & he really sucked in this show, but enough with the bad & on to the good, Kong is humongous & really rocks and the rest of the cast was really good, even Loki from Thor.

After hearing good and bad from a number of people, I decided to give it a chance. I must say that it was better than I expected. Great popcorn flick to watch for sure. It is a good introduction for Kong to the Monster universe that legendary is trying to create with Godzilla and the others. Plus the steelbook is pretty nice, which is always a added bonus.

Since I had seen recently the previous King Kong (2005) again, I could not but help compare the two. This Kong is bigger, mightier. However, feelings and emotions shown in the previous Kong was better. Overall, fairly a good script. I bought the Dolby Atmos version, so audio was better in this, enjoyed watching it with family.

Great combination of actors that give the audience exactly what you would expect from a big budget action movie. Sam Jackson plays the same part in every movie, but its a great part. The comedic addition from John C. Riley is a great addition. There are of course the parts of the movie where you just have to suspend your disbelief where the characters make stupid decisions, but overall its a fun movie worth watching.

Great way to bring back the big guy. Kong has personality and the human characters do too. Jackson's take at Cpt Ahab is really good, and the action is top notch. You don't have to wait long either yo see Kong which was nice. This movie is simply lots of fun and one of the best times I've had at the movies that didn't involve superheroes in s long time.

Great artwork on the steelbook must-have; however, as the 4K technology is still in it's infancy, and probably years from being 'the norm', as Blu-Ray has almost become, I would have preferred to have the DVD back-up disc, over the instead-included 4K disc, which is essentially not playable for me. As a collector, it's still waaaay too soon to consider updating my massive movie collection to yet another new format

This movie is only okay and I got it because it is in 4k but the movie itself is not really that great !

This was a good, but not great rehash of a new King Kong movie. Liked that it took a different spin this time making King Kong bigger in size and took place in the 1970s. Special Effects and action in the movie was great. Character and plot development not so much. Blu Ray picture and sound quality was excellent. My kids really enjoyed this movie. Some of the action was too violent though for its rating.

This is an amazing new take on King Kong, the first ever to not feature a major emphasis on the "Beauty and the Beast" lore. The focus on Kong being a godlike protector is perfection, it justifies any negative aspects of his actions. I'm so excited to see where this new universe leads. Once Godzilla, Mothra, and others are added to the film cannon.

After having seen the Fay Wray, Jessica Lange, and Naomi Watts versions over the years, I was not overly excited about watching yet another remake. It was nice to get something completely different. While some things were similar (uncharted island), as a whole, it was a completely different movie. A little on the long side, but very action packed.

To me nothing can beat the original King Kong. Peter Jackson came close up until the girl danced in front of Kong. That blew the movie. Not to mention Jack Black, He was just out of place the whole movie. This latest, Kong Scull Island is much better in all all aspects. From story line to over all visual effects. Well worth the price of admission.

Kong Skull Island is just a fun adventure film. It doesn't ask questions or make you wonder about the world around you. It does have great effects, some fun characters and a big monster ape running around a very fun setting. With great music for the era and some cool action scene, Kong Skull Island is a fun movie that looks great in 4K. Also make sure to stay after the credits for a tease on what is to come!

love king kong but this was hit and miss at times ….. I'm excited to see where the franchise can go from here

I wasn't able to catch this movie when it was out on the big screen last year however, I'm glad that I pulled the trigger to purchase this on 4K blu-ray. Watching this on my 120" home theater projector in 4K/HDR is something to witness firsthand. The visuals and especially the audio aspect of this movie will keep you begging for more.

I have purchase King Skull Island and loved the movie. The movie had a lot of action and suspense when they into skull Island searching for King. The fight of the monster verses Kong had a lot of action and was the best parts. The parts where the soldiers are on the Island is very suspenful and action oriented. I would highly recommend this movie.
