This was an interesting departure for a Kong movie. The plot points we know from 3 previous films were nowhere to be seen. I don't want to give away anything but it's a different kind of Kong story. It's awesome visually, if you have a large 3D TV it makes all the difference. It also has 4K disc and comes in steelbook packaging.

It has Samuel Jackson & John Goodman in it....2 good reasons to see it..they always make good movies... A fine example of why some places should stay inaccessible & untouched (yes, like Avatar) The locals were fine until "civilization" got there Great battle scenes between Kong & the evil predators (no, not just the humans)

Kong is not the monster as first perceived. There are nastier things out there, including certain people. This is not altogether new for the King Kong stories, but this one evokes even greater sympathy for the giant creature, as you hope the Ahab-like Lieutenant Colonel Packard either gets squashed or "fragged" by his own men.

A fun monster movie that does not shy from the letting the monster be the star of the show. The star studded cast does what you would expect from them, even if the character's development is a bit shallow. Though, to be fair, who really goes to a giant monster movie looking for character development? It can really enhance their story but ultimately not necessary, in this film at least.

Not bad! Ok, so some parts were really crazy when it comes to a "lost world" but the family thought it was pretty neat to watch. We always talk to the kids before any movie and review and compare real life events to events that happen in movies. Everyone understands that movies are for entertainment, enjoyment, are supposed to excite, scare, thought-provoke and stimulate conversations

First off this is one nice Steelbook, They really knocked it out of the park. It also is one of the only ways to get the 4K and 3D combo. It also includes a standard blu-ray and digital code. The movie is pretty good and the 3D effects are nice to showcase. If you want a one in all release minus the DVD, This is the way to go.

OK. Special effects and HDR fantastic. Atmos track on point and amazing. I liked the way this Kong looked. The last Kong was a better story, wish he appeared as this Kong. A list cast couldn't save this film for me. Jack Black's Kong was a better and more intriguing story. The only thing I hated about Black's Kong was they blew up the image of a silverback. Seemed inauthentic to me.

Sorry to say I didn't watch this in the theaters when it came out and I wish I would have this movie was fantastic and it would have been even better in a huge screen the characters and CGI was phenomenal you can barely at all tell if they're not even real they were done beautifully pick it up today you won't be disappointed

This is not a rehashing of the 1933 version but an allegory of the Viet Name war. It could have been better if the viewer wasn't hit over the head time and time again with said allegory. The 3D was great but can only get with the 4K and BD versions. If you want to see this movie 3 time then spend the extra money for the 3 discs. I just wish that the 3D came with just the BD 2D.

I bought this a long time ago and have never watched the whole movie all of the way through

This movie for me was the best King Kong movie ever. It packed with non stop action. It also showed a nice side of Kong that was not ever showed before. But the best part (Spoiler Alert) was that there are more Monsters out there and one of them is my all time favorite GODZILLA. This movie left with a sequel coming soon.

Have seen a lot of versions of King Kong and thought here we go again. But this was just the opposite. It was intense, gripping, kept you on the edge of your seat movie. Every time you watch it you see something new. It's the first of many more to come. Watch through the credits to see the teaser for the next in line.

This King Kong Movie is awesome it has a great story line that provides for great action suspense thrills and spill's.I didn't see this movie in the theater but knew it would be great and pre-ordered it with no hesitation,and if you do buy this movie finish watching the credits at the end as there will be more at the end.

Tried to return this as it would not play in my Xbox 1 s. due to package being opened. I ended up getting the proper setting set up on my Xbox and TV and got this to work. WOW what a difference too bad I returned the planet of the apes to get plain old Blue-ray .Wish I would have figured out the TV settings before.

Going into this movie for the first time, I had my doubts about it being enjoyable. My suspicions were laid to rest once the opening scene started to play on my 75” Sony 4K tv. The excellent detail in picture and sound were simply amazing. This movie is a great addition to my ever growing 4K movie collection.

I am in the process of updating my home entertainment system prior to Christmas. I so enjoyed this latest remake of Kong that i decided it would be my first 4k investment. 4k disc player and a Samsung tv are coming in the next couple of months, Kong falls into the category of a movie you will watch over again and again.

I will admit I have some friends that disagree with me on this one, but i like this movie.The story line is good, the effects are great and the sound engineer did a fabulous job with inserting all sounds where they should be. If you have a surround sound system (not sound bar) you will get to reap the benefits.

Excellent Remake... I Initially thought I wouldn't like this Movie. What a pleasent Surprise. Good story line made it believable and different from what we expect in a Kong Movie. Good acting John C. Reilly was excellent as the Comedy relief and Samuel L. Was Samuel L. Good casting and excellent assemble effort reminds me of Hidden Figures how the cast worked well together.

Wonderful movie! I Bought this for the 4K video, and Atmos sound. BOTH won me over with flying colors. The video quality is amazing, and the sound is wonderful! While its not always bass heavy, the will certainly test your subs when it hits! The first time you are introdused to KONG...WOW, will your sub get a workout!

This film would never win an academy award, but the audio is excellent, assuming you have a system capable of reproducing all the low bass. It also contains a very good Atmos track, again, you need to have the proper speakers to get this effect. Samuel L, Jackson doesn't shine in his role here, and John Goodman is somewhat underused, but Skull Island is great escapist fare.
