This movie has wonderful visuals, creepy scenes, and just overall very well written. Upset I didn't get to see it in the theatre. The digital copy of it makes it all the better so that we can watch it on the go. Fantastic movie.

If you enjoyed Coraline and/or ParaNorman, this movie will not disappoint. Not the happy tale kiddie movie, but a story about overcoming adversity through imagination and strength of character. Daughter loved it....now if I can just convince her that Kubo is a boy...lol. She thinks he's a girl and Wants to be a hero just like her..... maybe I'll just let her keep thinking that.

This was such a good find. I’ve seen the previous to this a while back and always wondered when it was coming out.

This movie is a must own. It's the best animated movie to come out this year. It's a fun adventure movie. It's beautifully done and has lots of heart. If this doesn't win a ton of awards next year, i'll be completely shocked.

The stop motion animation is the highlight of this movie, it is absolutely stunning!! the characters, story, voice acting and everything else came together to create a great film, and one I will definitely be watching again

This is an animated form that is not used widely, but these guys from Laika really know how to use this art form. This is recommended to be seen in 3D. Great story and amazing animation. I highly recommend this movie.

We love this move so much. As a huge animation nerd, the work and years it took to make this stop-motion film were not only a gift to behold but a thrill to watch. This is one of the best Leika films i have ever seen.

I caught Kubo in the theaters and after viewing, knew that I needed to add to my collection. Good story telling backed by innovative visuals that worked even better in 3D. I hope that Laika keeps the movies coming.

Jaw dropping detail for this somewhat dark folklore tale -- much of this movie was done using old-school actual stop motion animation. Be sure to check out the extras and you'll be even more amazed.

Great movie of stop motion as done by the studio that gave you coralline. 3d and non version in beautiful HD. This is a credit to the hands that made it. About a boy who must find out who he is and about his family.

This movie is similar to Star Wars but with real swords instead of those plastic things you get at Walmart. If you are a fan of white people playing outside of their ethnicity this is one of the better examples.

We rented this movie from RedBox and loved it so much, that we just had to buy it as soon as we could. My children are 6-21 and each one of them have watched this movie repeatedly. Highly recommend for the family.

My girls really enjoy Laika's films. This one is a solid addition to their library though it lacks some of the originality of "Coraline" it is equal to their other hits "Paranorman" and "Boxtrolls". In my opinion, the story and execution is better than either of the other sophomore efforts. This is definitely worth a buy if you did not see it in the theater.

This was an excellent movie, with a great story and excellent animation. It had adventure, and all the emotions. It was exciting and different. It was never boring and will become an instant classic for all ages.

Great story, awesome animation and just overall enjoyable to watch. A bit mature of a story, don't know if children under five years old will get it, but the graphics and animation should keep them entertained.

I was surprised by this one. I watched it in the theaters and I was expecting anything special because I wasn't impressed by the commercials, but it is a warm and touching story full of charm and eastern flare.

This film is an excellent combination of fun and interesting storytelling with stellar visuals. The humor, the character arcs, and the animation are all well beyond the scope of a traditional animated film.

I've loved everything Laika has done since Coraline (my favorite Laika film). Laika continues that trend with Kubo. Another excellent stop-motion film that looks especially nice in 3-D. Highly recommended.

Laika outdoes themselves. If you enjoyed Coraline, Boxtrolls, and Paranorman, you're sure to really enjoy this. Fascinating stop motion photography, great story, great characters. Really loved this movie.

There are so many great animated films out there, but this one really stands out. Good story, well-illustrated with excellent animation. Who could possibly go back to Hanna-Barbera style animation now?
