The movie did not meet my expectations for being a winner at the big award ceremonies.

DVD La La Land was recipient of many awards...not deserved, regrets

Weak story, mediocre dancing and choreography, poor quality filming in parts.

LOVE TO SEE BOTH DANCING TOGETHER AND ROMANCE MOVIE.

“LaLaLand” is that SPECIAL PLACE where your DREAMS collide with LIFE! I dreaded the Idea of another “Tacky” modern-day musical. After all, my standards are quite high for a musical; my favorites being “Singing in the Rain”, “West Side Story”, “The Sound of Music”, well, you get the picture. After hearing all the commotion about “LaLa Land” I convinced myself to go see it but spared myself from the embarrassment of taking my wife or a friend with me. So here I go to the movies alone, was going to skip the Pop Corn but after all, I thought at the very least I’ll entertain myself during the movie eating an x-large, overpriced, artery-clogging Pop Corn. I went in with kind of low expectations, knowing ahead of time that as much as I liked Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, they were not Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. As far as the acting goes, Emma Stone is in a class by herself. Wow! “LaLaLand” Knocked my socks off! If not the best, one of the best music scores of this decade, and definitely the best use of lighting and color I have seen in my lifetime. “LaLaLand” will be one of those movies I’ll watch over and over!

perfect condition and beautiful steel book! definitely one of my favorites

This movie is really beautiful and I love every second of it! The reason why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 stars is because I see that the steelbook doesn't come in 4K. I love collecting a lot of steelbooks and Bestbuy is killing every store out there with their exclusive steelbooks. A lot of the previous steelbook releases came with 4K like, Passengers, Sing, Assassins Creed, etc, and it's pretty disappointing that La La Land isn't going to have 4K. This means I would have to put out more money for a copy of La La Land in 4K.

I'll admit I wasn't sure initially if I'd even like the film let alone never watch it again. The opening musical number was rather silly and definitely not necessary but I enjoyed the rest of the film hence the five star rating. Ryan and Emma were great together and this one definitely needed to be in my eclectic movie collection. It's affordable and certainly enjoyable so there's no reason not to include this film in your collection too.

Lionsgate has been on a roll lately with re-releasing some of their catalog titles as 4K SteelBook releases. This is a beautiful SteelBook, and the included PET slip should be standard with all SteelBooks. I have the original SteelBook release, but I prefer this version. As far as the movie? Very enjoyable.

Completely lovely story of life in LA. Two struggling artists making their way. Reminiscent of the time when being a triple threat, singer, dancer and actor were requirements. Also, the loss it takes on Hollywood relationships.

Damien Chazelle has quickly become one of Hollywood's brightest up and comers with Whiplash and his newest film La La Land. This film is an instant classic thanks to Chazelle's direction. Chazelle took a familiar concept but wrapped into a gorgeous package with original music, impressive choreographed dancing, sharp cinematography, dream like lighting, and creativity that demonstrates his passion for film and music.

If you like a great musical (and you know who you are) then you'll love this movie. The cast is terrific, the music runs the gambit from catchy to unforgettable, and the movie itself is a fun little love-letter to Hollywood and the people that dream about making it big. The steelbook is gorgeous and a nice collectible piece if you're into that sort of thing (and you probably know who you are too).

My wife usually doesn't fall in love with movies like she did with this one. It's a good film. Definitely get it for yours if you need a mother's day gift. She won't be disappointed.
