It's stupid fast. Best sself powered external I've owned because of the file transfer rates. Thunderbolt was a pain in the butt to set up on my dual boot mpb for windows, and customer support is extremely limited.

Not worth the price. There are other ones out there that are just as good. Unless you need it on a professional level then I would shop around for other drives

I bought this drive for my Mac. It was easy to set up and I use it as a replacement for a failed internal hard drive

The LaCie - Rugged 1TB External is an easy to use, durable and reliable device. I have had a LaCie 500 GB hard drive for about seven years now and it works perfectly, like the first day I bought it. When I needed more space for my animation and live action films, I knew to get another LaCie hard drive. It doesn't disappoint.

I first purchased these two plus years ago for my work computer and I was really happy with the performance so, when I updated my own computer this was the drive I chose. It has traveled with me and remained rock solid. Easy to set up and no failures. It works well with Mac and PC.

As a thunderbolt drive I was expecting a faster start-up and access to large files. This drive is suitable for a backup drive but I'm going to as sd drive for daily use.

The LaCie is a wonderfully handy harddrive that I take with me everywhere! It's sturdy and brightly colored to locate in a minute. I feel my photos are safe using this drive. As well, the 1TB is the perfect capacity for a photographer.

Bought this to replace an aging external hard drive. It's fast and simple to use. I use it to back up photo sessions and photos from shoots from my laptop to my desktop where I do the majority of my photo editing. It's an essential piece of gear in my bag. Love it!

This is by far my favorite on-the-go external. And you can't beat the quality for the price.

being the HDD is a 5400 rpm drive and not a SSD means that you will never utilize the full 10gbps speed with thunderbolt. for the price tho you get a reliable back up drive. would not advise to use everyday only for backing up your files. I am a DJ and I was hoping to keep my music collection on here, but I have chosen just to use as back up because when it is connected and I am streaming music in real time it tends to slow down the system.

I brought this external harddive to backup my MAC. I had a bad experience with two different WB harddrives. This harddrive was easy to setup and with the lightning connector it is much faster than USB 3.0 WD drives.

This drive by far exceeded my expectations, it cost a little more but it's worth it.

Love this drive. Thunderbolt is fast and a must have for Mac users. Come with usb cable as well. The thunderbolt wife actually wraps itself into the bumper of the drive so you'll also have it with you. No more scrambling to find a thunderbolt cable!
