Died after less than 6 months of use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this LaCie Rugged Hard Drive on almost a daily basis starting in May 2015. I was transporting it back and forth from work to home in my bag. I used it with a new Mac Laptop and appreciated that I could also transfer data to a PC. I have never dropped it and generally disconnected it properly. It completely died less than 6 months after purchase - I was very upset. I never purchased the BestBuy protection plan, so they wanted $500 to recover the data since the hard drive was completely dead. Needless to say I let my lost photos and work go. I learned my lesson - definitely purchase the Geek Squad protection with hard drives. Just a little upset I got so little life out of this.
