    This hard drive was more expensive than the usb external drives, but on my older MacBook pro, the thunderbolt port was much faster than the usb.

    Fast disk, reliable, case could be batter and not have Thunderbolt 2 cable attached to it. If some cable needed to be attached I would chose the Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C one
