Starring Saoirse Ronan in the lead role – Christine, or “Lady Bird,” as she prefers to be called, a young woman about to graduate high school – the movie features an outstanding ensemble cast that includes Laurie Metcalf, Tracy Letts, Lucas Hedges, Timothée Chalamet and Beanie Feldstein, to name but a few of the many fine actors. In addition to the performances and the writing, Lady Bird impresses with its meticulous production design and economical editing. Both moving and funny in equal measure, the movie announces a major new talent behind the camera. Welcome, Ms. Gerwig. We hope to see a lot more from you in the future. With writing and direction this smart, “Lady Bird” is a joy to watch

“Lady Bird” is one of those rare films that comes along every few years and from beginning to end, you laugh, and you cry, all while being entertained and impressed by the actors who are portraying the characters in the movie. I loved this film SO much that I bought it, and I know that I won’t regret it for a second. All who were nominated for an Oscar for this film, was well deserved, in my opinion. I hope that you will enjoy this wonderful film as much as I do.

Though I love anything that Saoirse Ronan does. She's the best actress working today in my opinion. This wasn't worth all the Oscar hype that it received. Good? Sure. But as far as this type of film goes based on the same story line. I prefer The Edge of Seventeen myself. Still worth a watch and is good. Just prefer the other. See Ronan in Brooklyn or Hanna for a better one of her films.

This movie was a candidate for best picture in 2017. In my opinion it should’ve won best picture. It was one of the most well crafted, best directed and incredibly acted movies I’ve ever seen. Not typically the genre are usually watch but I was pulled into the movie almost from the very beginning and was fully entertained the entire movie long.

    Coming Of Age Drama

Many of the performances were very good, however, I think this film would be much more relatable had I once been a teenage girl? Certainly worth watching, but it didn't stand out to me from many other films of the same genre. Better than most, but wasn't as amazing to me as everything I was hearing prior to purchasing it. Glad to have it my collection though.

If the oscar-buzz of the movie weren't enough to lure you, Lady Bird in itself is one of the better Indie flicks of the past 5 years. The protagonist's journey is easily relatable, as most viewers will recall the same feelings of trying to survive those awkward high school years (even if you didn't go to an all-girls catholic school).

Having just moved to Sacramento, this movie holds a special place in my heart. It is hilariously honest in its portrayal of a teen nothing like her mom just wanting to get away from her roots only to realize she wouldn't be who she was without it all. The scenes are shot at beloved places in the city and inspired me to get out and explore.

Greta Gerwig can only go downhill from here, because this was about as good a debut as can be done. The coming-of-age storyline was solid, but it was Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf's performances that really helped make this special. I love Frances McDormand and Allison Janney, but the Oscars should have gone to the Lady Bird ladies.

This is a welcomed reminder of the strength of human relationships, and in particular, mother and daughter. This is a wonderfully written screenplay and with stellar performances by all, LADYBIRD is motion picture you can see on countless occasions and find something more to delight in yet every time. This movie is full of incredible performances, especially Laurie Metcalf's. The story of an angsty teen in her stressful senior year is one everyone can relate to, even though my mom would have slapped the heck out of me for yelling at her the way Lady Bird does to her own mom.

Perhaps I’m biased as a former sactown inhabitant, but Lady Bird is not only a beautiful love letter to life in Sacramento, but a hilarious and relatable view into growing up in a small town. A coming of age story that’s an intersection between Garden State and Saved, would definitely recommend

I have to admit my biases as a resident of the Sacramento area. That said the acting is top notch and believable without being coy. A true love letter to mother-daughters and Sacramento. Rent or buy it. It's worth it. Shame Laurie Metcalf didn't win an oscar. She was fantastic.

This is one of the best coming of age movies in quite a while. A simple story of simpler times which was easy to relate to even though I came from a totally different background. Excellent writing and acting that made the characters believable.

Some good acting and character acting makes this an entertaining film, but it is a bit overrated. When released, this movie was shown as having a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, but it is not at that level.

Lady Bird is such an amazing movie. It’s sad it didn’t win any Oscars. Ronan made her best performance and same with Metcalf. Gerwig did amazing with directing and I hope to see her direct in the future. Overall, it’s an amazing movie and should be watched!

I didn’t get a chance to see this in theaters, but I am so glad I got to see it at home. This movie will make you laugh, cry, and cheer. The acting was amazing and I can’t believe it didn’t win any awards at the Oscars. I recommend this movie to anyone.

Greta Gerwig needs to be praised for this film. She gave us 'Christine "Lady Bird" McPhearson' as an incredible lead who is dealing with the things that come with graduating High School & transitioning into adulthood. A great coming of age film

I struggled to watch this. I didn't finish it. I thought I would enjoy it but it grated me. So I can't say it was bad or good. it just gets a 3. Its not filmed bad and the acting isn't bad. I just had issue with it.

This coming of age tale's success comes from incredibly strong performances. Greta Gerwig can act and Lady Bird shows film fans that she can direct too. I can't wait to see her future projects.
