Find another crypto storage device after ledger announcing that they can recover your seed phrase from the device. THAT COMPLETELY DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF SELF CUSTODY. That is no safer then centralized exchanges so find another manufacturer to secure your coins/tokens.

It takes a while to set up, but eventually it's not too bad. One thing to know about the Ledger is that virtually everything is done on the device itself rather than on your computer. Therefore, be ready to click buttons a lot.

It’s cheaper on Best Buy than it is on the official website. The product was delivered on time and it was very secure.

Completely regret buying this. Company recently came out with a new service where they can pull your seed phrase and store it at 3 different companies. Not your keys, not your coins.

This is a great hardware wallet, with simplicity and security being put first and foremost. It can't be hacked by design. Ledger's app and process to setup the wallet is also great. Setup is simple and if you're new to a hardware wallet I can say that this is the perfect one to start out with, you simply connect it to your PC, setup the security and write down your backup code and then start adding your coins through the app. It's that simple. The display on the device works well, and is easy to read and navigation is not bad. It's small and can fit easily on a keychain so you can have it where ever you go (which can be good if you don't lose things and bad if you lose things a lot in which case I would put a tile or airtag with it - hey Ledger - why not make your device do this so we can track it's last known location?).
That brings me to the two things about this device I don't like. First I don't like how it swivels as I could see issues with that down the road as it reminds me of an expensive flash drive I had that fell apart after being opened so many times and a touch screen would have been welcomed which would have made navigation even simpler with swipes and taps. Outside of that I think this wallet was designed well and the app even better. The app is clean and easy to use and understand.
On a side note, as for the backup code.... having that code wrote down is the biggest risk to security of the wallet!! You can't treat it like any normal document or paper and literally need to treat it like it's cash as it's the only thing that could help you recover your wallet should your device get lost or destroyed somehow. Should you lose it, your hardware key becomes worthless, and you lose your wallet either to never be recovered or to be stolen if someone realizes what it is if the paper is found. I really don't like that Ledger provided a sheet that makes it super obvious what the code is and what device it's for!! I wrote mine on a plain piece of paper twice, one for the safe and one for the safety deposit box at the bank. That way, anyone who sees it, won't know immediately what it is and what hardware wallet it might belong to. Second is a sticker, why on earth would I want to advertise Ledger and let people know I have a hardware wallet they could steal.
Overall, this is great and if you have a wallet on your phone, I'd recommend ditching that and going for this! It's much more secure and to me is just as easy to use!

The Ledger Nano S is a great way to physically store your digital valuables. It is quick to setup, easy to use, small enough to be convenient, with the added convenience of the display screen.
Ledger Live, the accompanying app, allows you to buy, sell, and trade assets. You can also stake crypto assets.
One final element to the Ledger Nano S that I really like is that it is "open-source and developer-friendly," meaning that new coins and dApps can work in the future on this device, making it fairly future proof.
Keep in mind that a device like this is overkill if you are not holding digital assets which are worth much, devices like this should be reserved for people with hefty crypcurrency or NFT portfolio.
Just remember: If you store your Cryptocurrency or other digital assets on this device, be sure not to lose it, as if the device is lost, there is no way to recover the digital assets. Store it in a safe or other fire-proof box. It is also recommended, if you have a large amount of cryptocurrency, don't store all of it on a single wallet, physical or otherwise.

Ledger is one of the best know hardware wallets and the Nano is quite well know. the Nano S Plus is quite similar with upgraded hardware and most importantly more storage for apps (and therefore more token types on a single wallet). The software has come a long way and ledger live is excellent and keeps getting better. The instructions and website information are excellent. The process remains quite complex but is required to allow the combination of ease of use and Crypto safety these hardware wallets provide. Cryto in general requires careful reading of instructions and attention to detail - the ledger software is well written and unless one is careless you will be sucessful.
Know that this model is wired only and has no battery or Bluetooth. It can not be connected to an iOS device but ledger live will allow you to monitor accounts on the excellent iOS ledger live app by scanning a QR code from the desktop version (this only must be completed once unless you add additional accounts and does not compromise your security.

This crypto wallet does provide a very desirable function to consolidate all your crypto into one device. This particular Nano S Plus sits in the middle of the current array of Ledger devices. It can have as many as 100 installed apps – note these must be the apps the device will recognize. One of the apps I use for Bitcoin for example was not included in the current accepted apps but Ledger does give you an opportunity to request future inclusion – nice touch. In any event, the list of acceptable apps will allow you to manage all your various crypto currencies in one place.
Most important is the security of the device. A tip of the cap to the Ledger design engineers for using a secure certified chip (CC EAL5+) to ensure your protection is optimized in today’s world.
You can install apps on many platforms including Windows, Mac, Android, Apple iOS and even Linux. This device does not have Bluetooth connectivity (the Ledger Nano X does but costs more), so you will need a cable. Oddly the device has a USB C port but the single cable provided works only with a computer USB A port; although the cell phone use is touted. I started to install on my Android cell phone and found at that time that I would need a USB C to USB C cable which was not supplied. This was not optimal since it is very important to do a smooth install to be sure you manage the security of the device. Point is that while installing, the device will generate a 24 word code (called your Secret Recovery Phrase) that you MUST record and not lose. This 24 word code is the only way to recover your assets if you lose/damage your Nano device, or forget your pin. So I was surprised to realize I had to go find the right cable after I installed the app and was ready to connect.
The other concern as to installation was that you are warned to very carefully follow the step by step instructions but one of the first things I noticed was even after I installed the app, one instruction popped up to download the app which was already running. My critique is that this is a very sensitive situation so the software designers need to go back through their instructions to eliminate even these types of smaller bits of confusion to ensure confidence in the users for a device that handles financial transactions.
Another area of install I would alter is the input of your PIN, I noticed that as you enter a digit it is then blocked from view. In the install situation it would be better to leave the pin digits displayed. You do need to reenter the PIN for verification so that helps. But the designers should realize that you are creating your PIN in a secure environment and it is more important to show the PIN since the user will be wanting full awareness of what is going on. Small point but I think worthy to note.
Overall I was satisfied that the device is secure, just needs some tweaking on the install. I like the ability to manage all your crypto currency in one very secure spot. This device is functionally very well designed and I would recommend it.

The device itself is of excellent quality, with excellently thought out and well designed packaging and information. compared to trezor & others in this price range, it's superior for same $ range. not concerning their ehtics or poor marketing decisions, this is. a great device and easily understood by the novice.

Great hardware Crypto Wallet

The Ledger Nano S Plus crypto hardware wallet is a great little device. I am relatively new to crypto, but had been hearing about hardware wallets a lot recently, and was curious what they were all about. The Ledger Nano S Plus is relatively easy to set up, and takes about 30 minutes. It comes with a USB-C cable, 3 cards to write down your 24 word recovery phrase, and a little keychain. The device itself has an LCD screen and two navigation buttons. Even though it has a screen, it doesn't have a battery or anything, and only works when plugged in. To set it up, you download the Ledger Live app to your computer, and it walks you through everything step by step. It's all very simple. Part of this process is writing down your 24 word recovery phrase. It makes you write it down, and then re-enter it to confirm, so be sure to write it down and not just skip over this step. It's very important you have these words accurate in case you ever need to recover your key. And of course, keep the card safe and secure where no one can get it. After everything is set up, you can add "apps" to the device for each coin you want to use. Again, the app really makes it all very simple. The main thing I like about the Ledger Nano S is it's security. Even when it is plugged in, your key is offline, so it is very secure. Your key lives offline, so you and you alone own it and are in control of it. From what I've been reading about keeping your key on an exchange is that you have very little control if that exchange were to get hacked or shut down or something. Having your key locked away in a physical object that you control is so much more secure. I am very happy with the Ledger Nano S, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a hardware crypto wallet, or anyone even just curious about getting into crypto.
