Small, very well built and easy instruction.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wallet is small and very well built. It is 2.5 inches long and a little bit more than half an inch wide. It has a usb-c port, 2 buttons on top and a LCD display. The LCD display is a bit larger than the Nano S. It is also very easy to start using the wallet, the instruction is very easy to follow, it guides you step by step with explanation. It treats your security very seriously. During the step to generate 24 recovery phrases, it made you double confirm the recovery phrases. Once you selected a pin, it will prompt you to add account or install application, there is application for bitcoin, ethereum and many other application for popular coins. However, it does not seems to support IOTA. In the box, it comes with 3 recovery sheets, usb-c cable, quick start guide and a key ring. The 3 recovery sheets is for you to record down the 24 phrases. You need the usb-c cable to connect the Nano S Plus to your computer. To use the Nano S Plus such as send or receive crypto, you have to run the Ledger Live application on your computer with the Nano S Plus connected to your computer. As a safety feature, even when connecting the Nano S Plus to Ledger Live app, the private key is still offline so hacker online won't be able to get to your private key. The Nano S Plus does not store the actual crypto, it only store the private key to your crypto.

Portability, and carrying your money in a new way!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a sign of the times when you're carrying money you can't see on basically what looks like a flash drive, and not money you can touch and put into a physical wallet. The new Nano S Plus Crypto Wallet is about the size of a small thumb drive, protected by a nice brushed aluminum sleeve that swivels open to display the small black and white digital LCD screen. It has two buttons on the side above the screen that allows you to select and go through all of the prompts and controls. It powers up by USB Type C plug which is a short one is included. Nicely made though and braided. It also comes with an attachable key ring with a small sort of wrist strap although it's not big enough to go around my hand or wrist. It also comes with a small folder that includes three secret recovery sheets for you to write your twenty-four code words in order down. Those code words are very important because they are thee only way to recover your digital assets if you lose or damage the Nano or in the case that you forget your pin. So I'd definitely put them in a safe and protected place. So setting up everything isn't too bad, the screen itself is tiny, but once you download the app for the computer to complete everything once setting and confirming all of your 24 security words on the Nano, working with the app is much easier. You can choose which apps to download and use. You can read the market and see how things are going as well as keep tabs on your own portfolio. You can send and receive crypto currencies as well and buy and sell. It's not limited to just US currency or language as well as what region you're in, once going into the settings on the Ledger Live app it allows you to really personalize things to fit your personal needs. One thing is I use Coinbase and Robinhood for all of my cryptocurrency needs and neither of these were an option as far as apps to use with the Nano or LedgerLive. Over all it's a pretty cool concept but for me it's a little too small and hard to read personally. I'd recommend to others interested in the concept of what this does.

Awesome hardware wallet!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great hardware wallet, with simplicity and security being put first and foremost. It can't be hacked by design. Ledger's app and process to setup the wallet is also great. Setup is simple and if you're new to a hardware wallet I can say that this is the perfect one to start out with, you simply connect it to your PC, setup the security and write down your backup code and then start adding your coins through the app. It's that simple. The display on the device works well, and is easy to read and navigation is not bad. It's small and can fit easily on a keychain so you can have it where ever you go (which can be good if you don't lose things and bad if you lose things a lot in which case I would put a tile or airtag with it - hey Ledger - why not make your device do this so we can track it's last known location?). That brings me to the two things about this device I don't like. First I don't like how it swivels as I could see issues with that down the road as it reminds me of an expensive flash drive I had that fell apart after being opened so many times and a touch screen would have been welcomed which would have made navigation even simpler with swipes and taps. Outside of that I think this wallet was designed well and the app even better. The app is clean and easy to use and understand. On a side note, as for the backup code.... having that code wrote down is the biggest risk to security of the wallet!! You can't treat it like any normal document or paper and literally need to treat it like it's cash as it's the only thing that could help you recover your wallet should your device get lost or destroyed somehow. Should you lose it, your hardware key becomes worthless, and you lose your wallet either to never be recovered or to be stolen if someone realizes what it is if the paper is found. I really don't like that Ledger provided a sheet that makes it super obvious what the code is and what device it's for!! I wrote mine on a plain piece of paper twice, one for the safe and one for the safety deposit box at the bank. That way, anyone who sees it, won't know immediately what it is and what hardware wallet it might belong to. Second is a sticker, why on earth would I want to advertise Ledger and let people know I have a hardware wallet they could steal. Overall, this is great and if you have a wallet on your phone, I'd recommend ditching that and going for this! It's much more secure and to me is just as easy to use!

An Excellent Physical Wallet for Digital Assets
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ledger Nano S is a great way to physically store your digital valuables. It is quick to setup, easy to use, small enough to be convenient, with the added convenience of the display screen. Ledger Live, the accompanying app, allows you to buy, sell, and trade assets. You can also stake crypto assets. One final element to the Ledger Nano S that I really like is that it is "open-source and developer-friendly," meaning that new coins and dApps can work in the future on this device, making it fairly future proof. Keep in mind that a device like this is overkill if you are not holding digital assets which are worth much, devices like this should be reserved for people with hefty crypcurrency or NFT portfolio. Just remember: If you store your Cryptocurrency or other digital assets on this device, be sure not to lose it, as if the device is lost, there is no way to recover the digital assets. Store it in a safe or other fire-proof box. It is also recommended, if you have a large amount of cryptocurrency, don't store all of it on a single wallet, physical or otherwise.
