The downside of is that the usb that comes with was not compatible with my Android phone. I had to buy a USB C to C to connect the Ledger to my phone in order to update the Ledger.

Not your keys, not your crypto. Ledger is easy to use and safe! My only concern is losing the passphrase, you can write it down, but what if someone steals it? You can save it on your computer, but what if someone hacks it? You can memorize it, but what if you die? How do you give someone you trust the passphrase but also trust them not to misuse it or also get it hacked or lose it? Typical questions that aren't unique to Ledger but for all crypto.

It’s secured and nobody can get in remotely. It’s difficult to Hackers have access them, and the information needed to access your crypto is kept offline in ‘cold’ storage.
