I started buying him the $5 series packs and at 5y/o he builds them without any problems so we decided to up his game experience. Now he's building the big sets for 8+ y/o's.

Who doesn’t love Mario

If your kid watches review channels and loves to work with his hands he will enjoy it. It is very fun and the Mario is actually well made. You do need this one first before buying all the other packs. Highly recommend. Only con is the legos do not hold as sturdy and can become frustrating when building as they come apart.
