Posted .The Lenovo IdeaCentre 510A desktop, model number 90HV0005US is a fast configuration with its 6-Core/12-Thread Intel Core i7-8700 processor, with a base speed of 3.2GHz and a Turbo Boost speed of up to 4.6GHz. This processor is supported by 12GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Look for something else
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The description says "give yourself the gift of speed," there is nothing fast about this computer. Turn it on and time it with a calendar! Should you want to add a second monitor, the connection is VGA, technology so old you will be hard pressed to find a monitor or cable to connect it with. Keep moving.....nothing to see here!

Awful
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the computer, had it for TWO WEEKS. It shut down randomly and will not turn back on. Contacted geek squad, they were unbelievably unhelpful and rude. Contacted Lenovo, they want ME to pay to send it back to them to fix. I feel like you all stole nearly a grand from me.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaCentre 510A Desktop model number has both the latest 5G, 802.11AC frequency WiFi and cabled ethernet connectivity. Check your internet service provider for any issues. If your internet service is operating properly, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer and then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Fast machine but loud fan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy and the machine performs well. However, the fan is very loud, louder than the fan in any desktop computer I have owned. Also, the fan makes a humming noise, like a dentist's drill. Setting the power setting to Power Saver does seem to help. But what's the point of purchasing a machine with 12GB RAM if you need to run it at reduced CPU speed? The fan problem has been pointed out by owners on the Lenovo website. I wish I had consulted that site before purchasing this computer.

Limit Expandibility
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a semi-pro photographer and was looking for a desktop to replace my existing MacBook Pro. I opted to go back to Windows do to cost. After a week of research and comparing, I bought this desktop. PROS: Speed: It is very fast in running lightroom. I can convert 400 RAW files to JPG Large in less than 30 mins, it would take forever with the old MacBook. Graphics: The installed graphic card is good enough for what the desktop was intended for, photography. I Storage: The 1TB Hard drive is nice but wish it was bigger. USBs: It has plenty of USBs ports, both in the front and back. CONS: I am disappointed I could not add an additional hard drive. I have a 3 TB I was planning to install, but when I open the unit up, there is no room for an additional hard drive. Overall: I would recommend this desktop.

Dead in two months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this back in February 2019 to replace my Lenovo desktop i3. Everything worked fine as expected. But this morning, it won't power on. (I shut down my desktop from time to time when I don't use it.) I called Lenovo and they said I'll have to send it in at my own cost but they'll ship it back after nine days for free. I'm really happy with this desktop but this is disappointing. My Lenovo desktop i3 that acts as an emergency desktop for me works and my new one doesn't. :(
