Ok entry gaming laptop

The keyboard and touchpad feel great, but the screen warps when tilted back in share mode, and the backlighting at night is poor and gives glares at different angles. Returned for an open box Alienware deal, huge quality difference.

Fast processor, no issues playing games. I love the look of the laptop, the ability to change the colors back lit keyboard is a great feature. The fast refresh rate, 165 Hz is great on a 1920 x 1080 so smooth.

She loves this laptop. Fast enough for any productivity work she uses it for. Of course, battery life is subpar but this is a gaming laptop so to be expected.

This model ships with a Integrated 60Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 6 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 11 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://websiteforstudents.com/how-to-find-what-is-running-in-windows-11/. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your Windows 11 Desktop. Worth snagging on sale!

Super bulky charger/cord is the reason a star wasn't given, but it is what it is. Hooking it up to a bigger monitor and office setup soon

Compact yet Powerful

Battery life is okay for a gaming PC. My only complaint is that there is only 8GB RAM, and 2GB is used by Radeon graphics. I will be upgrading the RAM so this will not be an issue.

The only issue is that mine came with a little red dot on the display, it's not that visible but I'm worried that it can become a real issue.

Key sections can be customized with whatever colors you wish to set them to. All in all this computer runs great. The only issue I have run into is the cpu seems to get overheated, the cpu going into hibernation/standby mode at that time to force the system to regulate its temperature. This situational issue seems to only occur when the computer is running multiple Adobe programs simultaneously. Along with other memory draining software like chrome, and the oodles of Microsoft programs auto running, I’m not sure if this is a malfunctioning heat regulator, not triggering the fans to regulate the build up of heat, or if I need to adjust what applications are necessary to start Windows to minimize memory use from start.

It does everything I need it to do and more! I do very heavy graphics, online things and Computer Aided Designing. Only complaint is it is heavy! Trade off for the stability and strength!

Does need to have some upgrades put in such as bumping from 8Gb to 16Gb or higher and a 512Gb SSD is good a 1Tb would be better.

Pretty solid but it does get somewhat loud at times. Get yourself another RAM stick and it's golden from that alone. I run FFXIV at 100+ FPS at times.
