Its really good for engineering softwares such as fusion, autoCAD, python, solid works. Not the best screen resolution but pretty decent compared to others in the same price range with the same specs. Durable and a smooth body design. Battery life not the best but pretty decent for such a loaded device.

Extremely powerful laptop. My only qualm with it is the battery life while playing games, but in my use-case does not affect me very much as I am always near a power source. I wanted a good machine for productivity and games and this checks my boxes. 240HZ display is really nice with the games I play too.

Lenovo is my favorite gaming laptop manufacturer. This is a beast of a computer. Well built. Screen is fantastic. Battery life isn’t great, but you can’t expect great battery life for. A gaming laptop

For starters i would like to thank Best Buy for allowing us a good return policy as i will be returning this item. I have tried a couple of the Legion 7i laptops this one with 14700HX/4060 and the 14900HX/4070. Both ran incredibly hot i thought that this one with the 14700hx would run better but that is not the case. My use case is i mainly need something for programming with light gaming on the side. I dont mind the heft or size of the laptops but your choices are run the fans loud all day long or feel the heat on your hands all day long. You can definitely not use this for 8hrs+ either way. I tried undervolting and running in quiet mode with the lowest power settings available but it still ran hot or loud. Maybe this is ok to use just as a gaming laptop for a couple of hours at a time but if you need something for both productivity and gaming i dont think this is for you.

The chasis is really nice aluminum build. The keyboard feels amazing for a laptop. The screen is 100% sRGB and it does come with a sRGB color profile. This is great for color accuracy in most games and any SDR (90% of video content currently available on most platforms). The screen is HDR compatible but it isn’t a wide gamut display nor does it have local dimming, so I wouldn’t buy it for HDR content. On my unit, there was zero visible backlight bleed, which is amazing for a 500 nit IPS display. I originally bought the i7 and 4060 variant, but ended up returning for the i9 and 4070 version. It is 15% more expensive (at MSRP) for 20% more gaming performance.

I love this computer for playing games and hanging out with friends online. My only complaint is that the speakers are horrible. Good luck comfortably watching anything without headphones (especially discord stream shares.) The battery life also isn't the best. I can maybe get 45 minutes of battery gameplay max. I usually always need it plugged in or it would die mid-game. Other than that, it's convenient that I can play games anywhere I have decent internet and power, and it's pretty.
Hi, Melg, thank you for choosing Lenovo! Regarding your issue with battery – for some context, with the Legion 7i there are a few variables that a major factors in battery life, like the HX CPU and 130W TGP GPU. Under heavy game workloads, as you've seen, that amount of power can slurp your battery right up. If you want to squeeze out more battery and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, we recommend utilizing the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Vantage. We are glad to hear that your Legion 7i has been good for your gaming needs, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

Managed to snag this open box for about $1011. Excellent laptop for that price. Runs every game I've thrown at it so far just fine, and it's more than fast and strong enough to handle what I need. Also had 32GB RAM to replace the 16 and added a 2TB SSD to the extra M.2 Slot.

I encountered 3 problems within 2 weeks of buying this laptop.
- The wifi used to automatically disconnect and then says "Can't connect to the network". Only way to fix that was by restarting the laptop. I fixed by talking to Lenovo customer support.
- Keyboard settings automatically changes. Fixed it by restarting.
- The last one which made me return this laptop was, screen blackens out as soon as I launch a game. The graphics, processors, heating, everything is good in this laptop. But only after a week, my screen turned black. Ask Lenovo support and they said "Warranty doesn't cover software issues, so pay us $70". So I returned it.
Heads up to these issues, if someone encounters the same software problems, get ready to spend more. If it had no such problems, laptop is good.

Really nice laptop, but is a little heavy, not too much battery autonomy like aple and it has sharp edges.
Hi JhonR, thanks for choosing Lenovo! Everything about this gaming laptop is excellent, except for the battery life. That said, I understand it’s a gaming machine, so it’s expected to some extent. Still, I do wish the battery lasted a bit longer. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase, it’s a beautiful piece of tech.

Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. Everything is fine, the only problem is that my internal display might appear occasionally and I have to switch to NVIDIA display (it's better of course). I am not sure whether or not the NVIDIA display will also disappear in the future...
