Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the Legion 7i's fantastic performance and solid build quality as major strengths. The keyboard and display also receive positive feedback, with many praising their features. However, some users point to less-than-ideal battery life and occasional heat generation as drawbacks. While some find the fan noise noticeable, others report it as manageable or even quiet under certain conditions.

As a gamer and a content creator, this is a fantastic laptop that runs all of my games and creative programs very well! I spend most of my gaming time in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Marvel Rivals and the experience has been impeccable. For creative tasks I use Lightroom, photoshop, adobe premiere pro, and adobe audition. No issue running any of them! The fan noise is quite acceptable for this class of laptop, the keyboard is decent to type on, and the screen is high quality enough for a very satisfactory experience. The laptop has a decent port selection as well. I do, however, wish it had an Ethernet port on the back near the HDMI port. The downsides of this machine are: Heat. This is called a laptop, but do not use it on your lap unless you need a personal heater. Speakers. I may be spoiled by my 14” MBP, but the speakers are quite middling compared to my previous laptop. Other than that I have no complaints with this excellent machine. Worth every penny!

Took me a long time to decide on which laptop to buy, and after researching I choose the Legion 7i. I am very happy with my purchase! Great bang for your buck for sure! I've had no problems running various games on high settings, including DragonAge Inquisition, Hogwarts Legacy, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Graphics look great. As some have said, it does run a little hot at times, but I bought a powered cooling pad for under it and it solved the problem (see pics). It doesn't run loud in my opinion. The all-aluminum body feels very sturdy and looks nice and sleek (Love the glacier white!).

This laptop is ideal for anyone looking for a lightweight device without compromising too much on performance. The design is sleek and attractive, and while the battery life is decent, it’s not exceptional. One thing to keep in mind is that it can get quite hot under heavy workloads — but that’s expected, considering it's a compact laptop without large internal cooling fans.

Laptop looks great and is fast. I was initially concerned that the i9 processor would have overheating isses like its desktop counterpart, but that didn't happen. The white housing looks better in person than online.

Hi, EarlS. Thank you for choosing Lenovo! Regarding the heat produced -- after completing the latest updates in Lenovo Vantage, it should make a difference for you. Also, we recommend ensuring that the bottom of the device, where the air intake vents are, is clear of obstructions to increase air flow. Additionally, most Lenovo laptops, including this one, have a feature called Smart Control, enabling the user to use the key command combination of Fn + Q to toggle between thermal/performance modes. You can also make custom adjustments to fan speeds and CPU and GPU performance. Other than that, we are glad to hear that everything is working great, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and experience with us. It has not been missed by us. Lenovo

Seriously a good laptop, not only that but a great option compared to the other laptops in the market. The screen is crisp and does really well for video. The speakers while people say aren’t really good they are decent, or rather serviceable, they don’t have bass but the audio is very clear and is on par with most other gaming laptops. Gaming on this machine is wonderful when plugged in, I did not/ haven’t tried it on battery but I can image it’s not so bad. The machine performs like a desktop. My problem with this machine is by far battery life. The battery life varies a lot even when doing the exact same tasks, I was able to get 6 hours once while most other times I was getting 4.5 hours under light load and low but acceptable brightness, but there again this is on a full charge and that’s not very sustainable long term, so realistically you’re looking at 3-4 hours max of productivity/ light use if you value your battery and max it to 80%. The computer does seem to run hot times while idle so make sure it’s on a flat surface. If you’re going for a computer that’s mostly going to be plugged in, I don’t think there’s any need to look further, as this computer is up there with many mid-high end desktops, however if you are on the move a lot and like being able to be away from an outlet for a while, this machine probably isn’t the way to go, after all its parts are very powerful and at the same time power consuming.

Hey Rafael, thanks for choosing Lenovo! Regarding battery life, if you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, we recommend utilizing the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even more power conservation, and try to minimize background tasks where applicable like scheduling security scans. We're thrilled to hear that your Legion 7i has been great. We really appreciate you sharing your experience and feedback with us, as it does not go unnoted. Lenovo

Great performance, display, and comfortable keyboard. The Glacier White color and sleek design caught my attention purchased it a great price. Its mainly a gaming laptop, so the battery life isn't optimal and it gets a little hot, not a problem for me. I also do light video creator programs

Premium construction, great performance, and a pretty display. Comes with some quirks and bloatware, but nothing that can't be handled by some right clicks and deletes. Similar to other reviews, the two obvious kinks in this things armor is its battery life and the fact that it can get a little toasty when putting it under certain loads (definitely not a "lap"-top, gotta let those vents breath). But when you take into account the fact that most trains, planes, cafes, schools, and businesses have readily available outlets, the battery worry went away for me pretty quickly. I found myself finishing the work I needed done before I ever reached critically low battery levels. As a note for those who want to know or aren't familiar with Gaming Laptops, the 230W Charging Brick can be seen as a "little big" at first. I roughly measured it to be: L: 6'', W: 3.35'', D: 1'' (Picture 2 Samsung S2# Ultras OR 2 iPhone Pro Max's stacked on top of each other, that's approximately the size and weight.) But when you take into account that its powering the specs that this thing has, its pretty darn reasonable. Overall, very pleased with my purchase. Got it when it was on sale during Black Friday for $1,499. Would recommend.

I got this laptop few weeks ago. This is my second Levono. Last one was a 6 years old. Still great. But I need more power for newer technology. I use Adobe Lightroom, TOPAZ AI and other programs for editing photos and video. With my newer cameras, files are bigger and newer programs with AI require more power. Time is money when using this for work. For fun, you need something good that goes smooth. This one does the job. Yes, i gets hotter, but it works better. I just upgraded the memory in my new 2024 Legion 7i. Another reason I went with this model is that you can upgrade the memory to 64Gb, and you can also add a second SSD drive, I also went from 32GB to 64GB (I used for my case Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 5600MHz ). I must mention that when you start the laptop, screen will be blank for few minutes while it recognizes the new memory. Just wait and it should work. Since I have so many programs, many for windows only, This laptop is very powerful, so I decided on this one over the MAC for the work I do. I just moved over my current paid programs. Would I recommend this laptop? If you need the extra power for your needs, so answer is yes.

The Lenovo hands down is one of the best laptops I’ve had,,, fast lots of memory, really good graphics, Bad things ,,, gets really hot, and battery doesn’t last to long , and it’s kind of hard to download some media apps you got to know what you’re doing, it’s like other computers program is a little different, but once you get familiar with it , is easy so Lenovo legion thanks for this great product

It is a great gaming/creator laptop. All cnc aluminun chasis in color white. Good I/O. Because it is thin it run hot. The i9 14900HX is a tone down desktop cpu, so its power hungry even it is limited and undervolted by the user, so the chasis get way to hot. The battery suffer because of this, even on light usage power saving.

I absolutely love this laptop! From the awesome performance to the very good looking aesthetics and the RGB lighting is unique and perfect. All around well built and plays any game and any emulator I throw at it. I would have looked to get the You do 4090 version but they didn’t have the white color and also it was twice as much money. The 4070 is way more than adequate. It does get extremely hot so I put it on a stand.

Good rtx 4070 if you can get it under 1500. Performance is good regardless of being plugged in or not. Battery life is abysmal, as expected. You will use this plugged in. It gets very hot on top towards the power button. So it is a little bit worrisome that this will eventually melt.

Not a gamer. I purchased this laptop for music and video production. It has met and exceeded expectations. Performance, especially for a laptop, is very impressive. Build quality is super solid. My only complaint would be that it does produce a lot of heat, even when performing very minimal tasks. Otherwise, so far so good!

This laptop is beautiful and runs very fast. Build feels very solid. Screen is top. Some other brands’ screens like Asus can be over-saturated for me. In terms of quality, I think Lenovo outshines some of the the other brands I’ve tried, like Asus Rog Zephyrus and Hp omen. No fuss when installing and using different softwares. The only downside of this laptop is that it gets a little hotter for the touch than other laptops with similar specs that I’ve tried. Fan noise is good.
