Customers are saying
Customers frequently mention the Legion 7i's fantastic performance and solid build quality as major strengths. The keyboard and display also receive positive feedback, with many praising their features. However, some users point to less-than-ideal battery life and occasional heat generation as drawbacks. expensive and the wifi chip was slow.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its too expensive. The screen is beautiful but not really worth it for the money. There was an internet problem too- the wifi chip installed in the computer was super slow.

Black screen of death
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this less than a year ago and so far every couple of months the screen just goes completely black even though the keyboard and power button still light up, an external monitor works but there’s still no way of fixing the main laptop screen that way, I’ve had to take it to Best Buy geeksquad going on 3 times in 9 months

DO NOT BUY
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm writing this after having the laptop for 7 months. When it works, it's pretty great, albeit hot. I use the laptop a LOT, but not for anything particularly strenuous. I make gifs in Photoshop, play the Sims 4, and spend a lot of time online. In the 7 months that I've had this laptop, I've had to send it in to Lenovo twice. The first time, without any physical damage whatsoever, a section of the screen suddenly became pixelated and eventually spread over a period of minutes and blacked out the entire display. The second time, the 'A' key started sticking and eventually came off. Instead of sending one replacement key, I had to send it in so they could replace the entire keyboard and palm rest. Upon booting it up after getting it back from repair, my entire operating system was broken and the computer was stuck in a BSOD boot loop. Now I have to wait another 3-5 days for them to send a recovery USB drive and I've lost all of my files. (Yes, I have the really important stuff backed up, but still.) For what I paid for this, I expected it to last me years, but all it's done is cause headache after headache, far more frustration than it's worth, and literal hours spent on the phone with incompetent tech support who keep trying to sell me their extended warranty even though I purchased one through Best Buy. I'm sure there are people who have nothing but good things to say about their Legion 7s, but I'm not one of them.

I hope you have a better experience than I did.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredible build quality and construction. However, I had issues with mine and returned it. Finger print scanner didn’t work and would crash during setup. Constant programs crashing. And battery life that would literally die within 45mins-1hour of sitting on the desktop no programs or games running. I love the features this laptop offers but I must have have gotten a lemon.

Laggy key input on external monitor + loud fans
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a "desktop replacement" hoping to connect it to external monitors through a powered hub. I found that even keyboard entry lagged and gaming performance was poor compared to my 4060 desktop. Also, under the slightest stress the fans turn into a leafblower. I cannot recommend this laptop.

★★☆☆☆ - Disappointed by the Lack of Ethernet Port
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo Legion 7i 16” Gaming Laptop has a lot going for it—powerful specs, a high refresh rate display, and solid performance for gaming. However, I was shocked to find that it lacks an Ethernet port. For a gaming laptop, this is a huge oversight. Wi-Fi is convenient, but it can’t match the stability and low latency of a wired connection, which is essential for competitive gaming. Having to rely on an external adapter just to get a wired connection is frustrating, especially at this price point. If you’re a serious gamer who prefers the reliability of Ethernet, be prepared for extra hassle. This could have been a five-star machine, but without a built-in Ethernet port, it’s a major letdown for gaming.

Poor Battery Life.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Laptup, but hate the battery life. I probably wouldn't purchase this again as the battery life is about 5 hours so this means I wouldn't even get through a work day without having to find a plugin. Disappointed.

Posted .Hey, MartManJr. While we're thankful that you chose our product, we're sorry to hear that a specific aspect of it has fallen short for you. Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know, there are lots of variables that contribute to battery life and in gaming laptops that can increase even more. If you want to squeeze out more battery and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, we recommend utilizing the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. We appreciate your time taken to share your perspective.

Posted .Hi Alex,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues with your Legion 7i 16. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you, and we'd like to work with you to try to resolve these issues.
To start, we recommend ensuring you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button, apply all available updates. Next, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates here as well.
Regarding the heat produced, this Legion features an active cooling system, along with other components and software, designed to enable the user to power through work without throttling due to heat produced. We recommend that the bottom of the device, where the air intake vents are, is clear of obstructions to increase air flow. Additionally, this laptop features Smart Control, enabling the user to use the key command combination of Fn + Q to toggle between thermal/performance mode. For instances where you may use the device in your lap or a situation where the intake vents may be obstructed, we recommend switching to cool or quiet mode to help with the heat felt on the bottom of the machine.
If after the available updates are applied and cooling adjustments don't resolve the problem, in-depth troubleshooting will be necessary to fix the problem. We then recommend contacting Lenovo Support here: 877-453-6686, for further assistance.
Also, please feel free to reach out to us via the Q& A section of this product page should you have any questions or need further assistance.

Not so great..
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop as an excellent condition open-box item, but the performance has been very disappointing. It’s slow, and the screen shakes whenever I touch the keyboard. This is especially frustrating since I’ve used Lenovo laptops for years and always had great experiences. While I’m considering switching brands, I won’t fully blame the model, as the issues might be due to it being an open-box item.

Display is Glaringly Bad... Good Specs but no
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The display on the lenovo legion 7i 16" is absolutely terrible. I am genuinely shocked that the reviews are great for a display this poor at this price point. I use my laptop for gaming, photo + video editing and the latter would be impossible with this laptop, instant return. Was looking for something that was beautiful and didn't have to be embarrassed of at work while still having gaming specs and this definitely fit the bill! I found it quiet and the chassis is stunning with soft touch and fingerprint resistant feel.. Started my adobe suite products quickly and performance was good.. But I absolutely cannot get over how bad poor the display is.. colors are so off and over exposed.. Even with adjustments and apps the display was just... absolutely unusable for editing.. Battery life was unimpressive as well. Sadly going back. It's definitely overpriced for what it is at over $2k regular price as of 5.29.25
