Essentially a Desktop

Other than that I averaged 1.5-3.5 hours of battery for LIGHT use off charger. If you don't mind being tethered to a cord than this is great. It is absolutely stunning with the white chassis and screen resolution, but to me this is a stay plugged in device, which is not what I was looking for.

The matte white body paired with the lit keyboard makes for a beautiful and show-stopping product. Fast and runs great! My only complaint is that the fans are VERY loud when running high-demand software and the area above the keyboard gets extremely hot to the touch.

Firstly, the Legion 7i allows you to change the computer’s thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Lenovo Space app, Under the CPU and GPU Performance gauges you will find the option to toggle performance profiles. We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the temperature of your Legion 7i when under heavier workloads. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.
It is also advised that you allow sufficient airflow to the fans located at the bottom of your Legion 7i. This allows the device to properly circulate air through the system ensuring that it stays cool to the touch. You should also avoid resting the Legion 7i on fabric or materials that retain heat like blankets as that will trap heat under the system leading to louder fans and higher temperatures.

My first gamer computer and I didn’t consider the battery at all. It last about an hour or two max before it runs out but I believe I can leave it charged. Other than that I think it’s great.

Overall, I find this Lenovo Legacy to be a quick and agile computer. It's weight is lighter than the Asus and the screen is brilliant and clear. Sound speakers SUCK, which was surprising -very tinny wirh no depth. My phone has better sound!

I was looking for a machine that could handle heavy AAA gaming but didn't look like a "spaceship" in a professional setting, and this is exactly that.

The only detail is that you have to charge it after 3-4 of using ot nonstop with the architecture programs loke AutoCad and Rhino.

Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available drivers updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings, these updates are crucial to the device’s health and will affect the device’s power output leading to enhanced battery life. To check for updates within Lenovo Vantage begin by launching the application, then select the “Check for updates” button on the top of the right-hand of the display. To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.

I’m happy with the performance, screen quality, camera quality, and the light-up keyboard. The battery life is the only compromise you make getting a laptop like this as opposed to a similar quality non-gaming laptop. The laptops charger has a large power supply, high wattage USB-C charging trickles down slowly instead of charging. As a student, I had been on the fence for years about getting one but I’m glad I did.
