Overall the machine is beautiful. I have had a problem with it sleeping then waking up to a fuzzyish screen but a restart fixes it. I think the on board intel graphics card is a dud. Just don't have the time to drive an hour and a half one way to get it looked at or exchanged. I have done, and kept up with all updates.

Gaming experience 5/5: Great laptop for gaming 5/5 in that aspect. Zephyrus isnt a gaming laptop and fans cant handle any modern title after long periods. performance 5/5: Marathon 2025: 70-100 frames depending on the map on high with 1440p Star citizen:60-100 fps 1440p high settings bf6: 100-200 frames 1440p high settings Track pad review 3/5: The track pad is second best to the Zephyrus g16, and g16 track pad is by far the best track pad ive used since a macbook. Its on par with a macbook if im being honest. keyboard experience 5/5: second best keyboard to Zephyrus g16. it has also has a numpad which is super nice! Also every key cap light color can be changed individually through the provided software. Bloat ware 3/5: It came with bloat ware :(. Its easy to remove though, but still kinda sucks. Ports 3/5: Great port selection and you can trickle charge it with a usbc charger. Only issue is no thunderbolt 5 which is my biggest issue with ports. Something this big and expensive should of come with a thunderbolt 5 port! Honestly if you want to buy something for the long term I would go with the asus rog strix instead. Screen 5/5 On par with Zephyrus g16. I couldnt tell the difference. Parts 3/5: Only came with a 1tb m.2 :/

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is an absolute powerhouse. The RTX 5080 and Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX handle everything I throw at it without breaking a sweat. The 2.5K OLED display is stunning — colors are vivid and text is crisp. 32GB RAM means no slowdowns even with multiple apps running. Setup was straightforward and it has been running flawlessly since day one. A premium gaming laptop that delivers on every promise.

As a gaming machine it's the second best on the market, behind only the 5090 variant. Unfortunately, NVIDIA relies a lot on fake frame generation to hit 60fps let alone 240fps to match the beautiful display this machine has. There is no SD slot, which is odd considering other Legion models have one. With gaming handhelds relying on micro SD, it's annoying that the Legion Pro 7i doesn't have one. The lid and bottom are metal, but the interior is plastic and that's the bit you interact with. Giving it a very cheap feeling in use. Being a gaming laptop, it requires the 400w power brick to be tethered to it if you want performance. That being said, if you can get it for sub $2,400 it's a brilliant performer.

I’ve been using the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i RTX 5080 and it’s one of the best gaming laptops I’ve ever had. When playing Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing turned on, the visuals are breathtaking ,reflections, lighting, shadows, the kind of immersion that feels like stepping into Night City. Thanks to DLSS (and especially the newer DLSS-4 / Multi-Frame Gen stuff), it manages to hit smooth frame rates even under heavy RT loads. Performance in Ultra settings is shockingly good. The screen is gorgeous: a 16-inch OLED QHD+ panel, extremely vibrant colors, fast 240Hz refresh, crisp response times. It elevates both gaming and media content beautifully. That said, there is one annoying quirk: sometimes the system will default to another display or switch to the internal (integrated) GPU instead of using the RTX 5080. You’ll notice lower performance or visuals until you dive into settings to re-assign the GPU or disable Optimus ensure the MUX switch is active. It’s not a deal breaker once you’ve tweaked it, the Legion delivers. But for out-of-the-box usage, that behavior can be frustrating. Overall, if you want top-tier gaming portability, this is about as good as it gets just expect to spend a few minutes configuring things correctly.

I bought the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16IAX10H with the RTX 5080 Laptop GPU a few weeks ago and I’m seriously impressed. This thing is a monster. Right out of the box, the performance blew me away. The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX paired with the 175W RTX 5080 handles AAA games at 2.5K resolution with ultra settings, DLSS 4 and Frame Generation extremely well. It feels like having a high-end desktop PC in laptop form. I’ve played long sessions and it stays stable in Extreme mode. The 2560x1600 240Hz OLED screen is gorgeous — colors pop and everything looks incredibly smooth. Thermals are surprisingly well controlled for such a powerful machine. It came with 1TB of storage, so I added a 2TB Samsung PCIe 5.0 SSD myself, and now everything loads lightning fast. The 32GB of DDR5 RAM makes multitasking, streaming, and sim racing feel effortless. Build quality is solid, the keyboard feels great, and overall it’s exactly what I was looking for in a premium gaming laptop. Yes, it’s expensive, but it delivers top-tier performance without major compromises. Highly recommended.

Powerful laptop. Desktop replacement for sure. Very strong laptop that has great thermals but with that comes portability issues. It is a large device and comes with a massive power supply. The power supply is so large it almost negates it being a laptop haha. If portability isn’t needed then this is an amazing laptop. You can also charge via usbc at 140 watts but you need a proprietary Lenovo usb c charge as it uses a proprietary Lenovo usb c charging speed that regular chargers don’t offer, which is just lame.

Overall the laptop is very good. Upgrading (adding) RAM and SDD is very easy. The back side is a little bulky with the fan export, but needed due to the CPU/GPU. Noise levels are in line with this higher performance laptop. Really the main negative is around the weight. It is a bit heavy due to the higher type laptop, but the power brick (400w) adds a big increase to weight when carrying around in backpack. Also, I needed to buy a second power brick and they are harder to find only. Even Lenovo didn't sell one directly. I finally found one online and it was $250.

you can throw any game at it and it runs great! love the oled display too. only comes with one 1tb ssd but you can always upgrade that or use the 2nd SSD slot. Then you can upgrade the ram to 128gigs which is crazy to me but if you need that for some reason you can do it. If i had to complain about anything would be the battery life. if your not gaming and your using the integrated intel graphics and put everything to eco mode and turn all the lights off you can get a few hours out of it if need be but at the end of the day its a gaming laptop.

Lenovo Legion Pro 7 (RTX 5080) – Honest Review Unboxing the Legion Pro 7 was pretty standard—nothing flashy about the packaging. But once opened, the laptop itself looked beautiful. The build quality impressed me immediately. The OLED screen? Stunning. It reminded me of the G16’s panel—so good that I didn’t even want to hook it up to my gaming monitor. I was content just using the display it came with. The speakers are solid. Not quite on par with the G16 or G14, but still miles ahead of most Windows laptops—especially MSI. Apple still leads in audio, but Lenovo did a decent job here. The Lenovo Vantage software is clean and simple. While it doesn’t quite match the functionality and polish of Asus's Armoury Crate, it’s definitely better than MSI’s cluttered software experience. Now for the drawbacks: No Thunderbolt 5 support – very disappointing for a flagship-level machine in 2025. Rear I/O relocation – Moving most ports from the rear to the sides feels like a step back for gamers who value desk cleanliness and cable management. No fingerprint sensor or Windows Hello – It’s a premium laptop, and being forced to enter a PIN every time feels like a regression. Maintenance quirks – Upgrading the SSD or RAM requires removing part of the vapor cooling system, which is tedious and risky. One screw almost stripped on me. If you're opening it up, use the right tools and be careful. On the plus side, battery life has been decent so far. The trackpad is responsive, and the keyboard feels great—good travel, not too loud. Personally, I prefer these softer keys over loud, clicky ones. Gaming performance? Flawless. The RTX 5080 handled everything I threw at it without breaking a sweat. Fans never got obnoxiously loud like they did on the MSI Raider 18 or even the Asus G16. Thermals stayed under control throughout my sessions. Also worth noting: the Gen 5 SSD slot (already populated with a Samsung drive) is blazing fast—rivaling even the 990 Pro I use in my desktop. Final Verdict: I wanted to love this laptop, and in many ways, I do. But Lenovo cut a few corners that matter—especially to gamers and power users. The missing Thunderbolt 5, port relocation, and lack of biometric login features hold it back from perfection. Score: 4/5 A strong performer with great build quality and display, but it’s missing just enough to keep it from being a top-tier,

      Hey Tone,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

We wish to provide the best experience possible for our users in design, features and performance, and we appreciate your comments on these topics. To prioritize high-end performance while maximizing air exchange, we decided to move the rear ports to the sides of the laptop for larger venting and cooling components. If the ports remained in the rear along with the larger rear cooling components, the laptop would be significantly longer. Regarding, the latest I/O technology and biometric login options, and other design remarks, we will consider these points for future improvements.

I purchased this laptop after my Razer Blade 18 laptop screen started going bad. The OLED screen is beautiful. It has little glare, but nothing too distracting for me, since I normally use this laptop at home after work for gaming and schoolwork. It does run a little warm, but if you enable silent performance/balanced mode in the BIOS, the PC runs like a beast without getting super loud while gaming. One downside of this product is that it's a fingerprint magnet, so you might want to get a microfiber cloth to wipe down high-touch areas. I am still giving this laptop 5 stars because it's performing so well for me right now.

Let me explain. - this thing is bonkers. The processor does at 57 on performance, the you benefits from a 400w power supply, the build is insane, speakers are amazing, oled is punchy! Cooling is also fantastic. I hate when people buying gaming laptops say battery life sucks - it’s a GAMING laptop. That’s what they do. 20 year IT veteran and former geek squad manager here - this thing is nuts. Sleek. It’s my current daily driver and you can’t go better than this at this size and price. Beautiful unit.

By far, the BEST laptop in it's class!! Not cheap, but it delivers everything you can thro at it and then some!! The screen is absolutely stunning!! Every game I've played, I've played MAXED out for hours and never had an issuse. There's alot of youtube videos that also rate it very high. And I agree with them all! Built like a tank too. Very solid and robust. It feels expensive! The 400w brick, charges it super fast too! The only bad thing I can actually complain about, is the cost. And the lack of upgrading. But, upgrades arent actually needed to be honest. Battery life isn't anything to brag about either. A laptop this powerful though, is going to consume power like a Lamborghini does fuel! This is a serious machine for serious work and play.

      Hi KevinS-

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you are enjoying the performance of the Legion Pro 7i. We aim to provide an excellent user experience, and we would love to recommend a few actions you can take to improve battery life.

Firstly, the Legion Pro 7i allows you to change the computer’s thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Legion Space app. Under the CPU and GPU Performance gauges, you will find the option to toggle performance profiles. We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the temperature of your Legion Pro 7i when under load and will reduce battery consumption, allowing for longer gaming sessions. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

The Legion Pro 7i also includes the option of controlling the “GPU Working Mode”. You can find this within Legion Space, just below the Thermal Profile modes from the previous step. This allows your device to switch between the integrated GPU and the discrete GPU. By switching modes, you can enhance battery life through the Hybrid-iGPU Only Mode, which will lower the power draw of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card or enhance display performance with dGPU Mode.

Please reach out to us through the Q&A section of this product page if you have any questions or need any assistance.

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i — A Powerhouse Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i stands out as a premium gaming laptop built for players who want top-tier performance without sacrificing build quality or usability. Designed with competitive gaming and heavy multitasking in mind, it delivers power, cooling, and a clean, professional look that works just as well outside of gaming. Performance: The Legion Pro 7i is a beast when it comes to performance. With high-end Intel processors and powerful NVIDIA graphics options, it handles modern AAA games smoothly on high to ultra settings. It’s also well-suited for streaming, video editing, and other demanding tasks, making it more than just a gaming machine. Display: One of its biggest strengths is the display. The high refresh rate screen provides extremely smooth gameplay, which is especially noticeable in fast-paced shooters and competitive titles. Colors are vibrant, brightness is strong, and the resolution keeps visuals sharp without hurting performance. Cooling & Design: Lenovo’s cooling system does an excellent job of keeping temperatures under control, even during long gaming sessions. Fans can get loud under heavy load, but that’s expected for a laptop this powerful. Design-wise, the Legion Pro 7i looks sleek and understated, avoiding overly flashy gamer aesthetics while still feeling premium. Keyboard & Features: The keyboard is comfortable with good key travel and responsive feedback, ideal for both gaming and typing. Customizable RGB lighting adds personality without being distracting. Ports are well-placed, and Lenovo’s software gives useful control over performance modes and system settings. Battery Life: Battery life is decent for a high-performance gaming laptop, though gaming unplugged will drain it quickly. It’s best used plugged in to unlock its full potential. Overall Verdict: The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is an excellent choice for gamers who want desktop-level performance in a portable form. It’s powerful, well-built, and thoughtfully designed, making it one of the best high-end gaming laptops available. While it comes at a premium price, the performance and quality more than justify the cost.

Fast and reliable with a beautiful built-in screen. Does not handle external monitors as well as I would like. I prefer to have my lid closed when I have an external monitor hooked up. When the internal screen is off, it defaults to a lower resolution on the connected monitor. I can't rate the battery life since it is always plugged in at my desk. I am also not a fan of the disco lights and had to figure out how to turn them off with the keyboard shortcut. I have an external keyboard, and I almost never use keyboard shortcuts, so it took me a while to find it. It was easy enough when I located it. I think of Lenovo as a business laptop, so I don't know why they added the colored LEDs everywhere. The ones under the keyboard are especially distracting.

      Hey BarclayharrisH,

Thanks for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us.

We appreciate your comment regarding the RGB lighting. Typically, Legion gaming devices have a more subtle design, but since the enthusiast gamers generally prefer as much RGB as they can get, we decided to make this the case for the Legion Pro series devices. This has been noted as we consider future design improvements. In the meantime, we recommend going into the Legion Space app, and under system settings, adjusting the RGB lighting to your liking.

Regarding the external display issue, we recommend ensuring that the system's drivers are up to date, as this can happen with any system bugs tied to graphics drivers. To start, we also recommend ensuring you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button, applying all available updates. Next, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates here as well.

We are glad to read that you are enjoying all other aspects of the system.

I’ve owned this for almost 2 months now an it had been amazing! It’s a beast on any game I run and although I use a laptop cooler now, before I bought a cooler it was still surprisingly cool while running some pretty intense games. I would always advise buying a cooler though lol. It hasn’t had any defects as far as I can see. 100% worth it
