Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Legion Slim 7's performance, battery life, build quality, screen brightness, and portability, with many praising its lightweight design and excellent display. However, customers are negative about the laptop's tendency to overheat and generate noticeable fan noise, particularly under heavy load. Some users also expressed disappointment with the sound quality of the speakers and limited storage options. Overall, the positive aspects of performance and portability seem to outweigh the negative feedback regarding heat, noise, and audio for many users.

Very happy with this laptop! Solid state drive boots fast and the fingerprint scanner works well. Gaming performance is excellent with settings cranked up and the laptop is thinner and lighter than I expected. Gaming performance is best when plugged in and the fans can be a bit loud, but nothing that gives me pause. Gaming unplugged will definitely drain your battery faster.

The laptop is a very well designed, durable and stylish gaming laptop. (I love the aluminum look and feel.) It comes with a very long cord with a unique plug for the laptop that is about the size of a USB plug that stays connected very well. It also charges quickly and has great battery life. Like all gaming laptops I recommend plugging it in while playing a game and that's where the long cord comes in handy. The laptop also has probably the best fingerprint scanner I've had yet on a PC. It works every time with little effort to unlock windows. To play games I have the laptop connected to my monitor with HDMI and it transfers great graphics to the monitor along with adequate sound to my speakers. As is expected the fan does get quite loud while gaming, but does a good job in not getting the PC too hot. The fan is blowing out of the back of the PC so the sound and air flow are away from you to minimize the impact while you are playing. Besides gaming, the SSD drive and 16GB of RAM allow for quick start up and great productivity. The one knit pick I had for the laptop was that it has 1TB of space. It is plenty for everyday needs, but 2TB would allow for more games to be stored on the system at once. Overall this PC is definitely a 5 Star laptop that I would recommend to anyone looking for a slim, stylish gaming laptop.

In advance of my purchase, I studied over 100 YouTube videos, consulted with my brilliant 20 year old gamer son, picked the brain of the engineers at work , and finally, made the purchase a few weeks ago at Best Buy. I chose the Legion 7 slim AMD “advantage” built-out. After several weeks of testing, I’m convinced I made the correct decision.

I purchased the Lenovo Legion 7 Slim about 6 months ago. I am a heavy heavy gamer. I run fps games on max setting. I have a Alienware 240fps monitor. This laptop has no problem giving me 240fps in any game (1080p). Overall a great laptop. A bit over kill on power if you are not using it for gaming or streaming/editing.

Unreliable. Looks good though. Laptop worked okay for about a month. The wifi card performance is mediocre which is disappointing in a gaming laptop with no ethernet port. After about a month laptop failed to boot. Sent it in to get new memory at the warranty service center and received functional laptop. After another couple months the fn key failed on the laptop. Was informed that this is not covered by warranty and would be a 100 dollar repair.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16 AMD Advantage Edition, Gaming Laptop, model number 82UG0002US. This model ships with a Integrated 71Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 8 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. To maximize battery life between charges, switch your Power Management Settings within the Legion Vantage Dashboard installed on this computer, to a Hybrid Power Setting. Some other tips for extending battery life between charges: Set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 11 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://websiteforstudents.com/how-to-find-what-is-running-in-windows-11/. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your Windows 11 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If you have questions about your Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16 AMD, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support for more information at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

I have never used an Lenovo product before or an AMD GPU before . I've used AMD Ryzen CPUs before and never had any issues so I wasn't sure what to expect with the graphics card. So the specs to this computer is 16 inch IPS display 2560x1600 res with 500 nits of brightness with 165 refresh rate AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX AMD 6800S GPU 16GB DDR5 4800mhz memory with 8GB soldier onto the motherboard Only 1 storage bay which houses a 1TB PCIE gen 4 SSD 2 USB type A ports 2 USB type C ports HDMI Full size SD card slot Headphone/mic jack I took a star away for the simply fact the Intel variant of this laptop has 2 drive bays for storage while the AMD variant has one . Anyways once I got this computer set up I started to play some games on this laptop and for the most point it doesn't disappoint. 92 average FPS in wow with max settings which isn't bad at the native resolution. Around the same with other games I've played like Mass Effect 3 and etc. All in all a slim gaming laptop that weighs around 4.5 pounds and you can carry around with you and use on the go. Not necessarily a long time but if you need to do quick stuff it's great on the go.

Purchased open-box like-new but since then it has not functioned properly for longer than a few months. Every so often I need to send it back to the depot for another repair. If you do buy, splash for an entirely new product.
