Customers commend the Legion Slim 7i 16" Gaming Laptop for its excellent performance and high-quality build. Positive feedback also highlights the bright screen and relatively light weight for a gaming laptop of this power. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and the fans can be loud during intensive use, generating noticeable heat.

Very premium looking, well built, snappy gaming laptop. It's built in such a way that I can use it at work and not give away that it's a gaming laptop. The full keyboard layout is comforting to use and there's enough ports to satisfy my needs. Battery life was satisfactory. Unfortunately, the fan can get pretty load at times, and especially during gaming with the settings on high. I also thought the quality of the screen was fine, but I wish it was OLED to get more a more punchier color profile. Overall this is a winner and I suggest this to anyone looking for a gaming laptop that can serve other purposes.

Overall this machine is excellent. Screen is beautiful, CPU/GPU has given me great performance (Last of Us 80-90fps high settings DLSS quality, Forza Horizon 5 125+ fps Ultra DLSS quality, Far Cry 6 Ultra DLSS Quality 90fps, RDR2 Ultra 60-70fps). Its exactly what i would hope for in a gaming/productivity machine. Everything feels snappy and software has been working just fine after updates. Sometimes new machines just have all kinds of odd bugs that take reinstalls and other workarounds to get going. Habent had that with this. And im new to Legion laptops. Oberall very happy. The few cons are minor but something to consider. If youre not used to a full keyboard, which im not, that takes time getting used to. I naturally want to position my hands to the center. I never use the number pad onnthe right and feels so unnecessary. Removing that and centering the keyboard would be wonderful. The other minor gripe is the keyboard lighting and spacing of the light through the bottom of the caps. If youre laying down or at a low angle you will see the bright lights from under the keycaps. If sitting up, no issue. Its minor but that angle its quite bright and annoying. Ive never had a keyboard do this. Strange design flaw. The last issue was there was plastic squeek when holding the base of the laptop onnthe right side. I opened up the case and found the battery housing plastic was squeeking. I had to wrap electrical tape around it to stop the squeek. Not aure if thats safe but the annoying squeeze is gone. Id still recommend this machine to any gamer or productivity professional with the clean design and build quality.

I bought this laptop open box in good condition and have been really enjoying it. For gaming, the 240 Hz screen at 500 nits of brightness is perfect and the RTX 4070 allows me to play most games at high or ultra settings without pushing my temperatures too high. The 1 TB SSD is nice to have but the extra SSD slot is great when you need more storage.

It was better than expected, way better than the gaming laptop i bought 4 years ago . It was also a legion y520 and cost me 1,300 at the time. The only thing you need to make this laptop the best bang for your buck is adding more ram but choose wisely as speeds will depend on compatibility. Last but not least a 2tb ssd for more space . It will be up to par with the more expensive options but will cost you less ...

With over 3 decades of gaming experience, this is by far the best gaming laptop I've ever had the pleasure of using. It's powerful for games, fan noise is surprisingly quiet for the tech specs of this beast, and the beauty of the screen and Lenovo functionality is just a delight to use. I've never seen such an engineering marvel. 6 stars if I could!

**UPDATE**
After using it for almost a month now, the microphone on the laptop went out. Was very frustrating when I was taking my proctored online exam, so I had to plug in an external mic. Tried reinstalling the Realtek drivers for it but it didn't work so I went to Geek Squad at Best Buy for assistance. One of the GS employees was able to determine it was, in fact, a defect on my unit and was planning to send it in for manufacture repair, but ultimately I was able to get a replacement unit for it even after 15 days of return/exchange policy because my unit was still relatively new, and the manager felt bad about it. Overall, good experience with customer support.
**REVIEW**
One of the best gaming laptops I ever owned and touched in my entire existence. I bought this unit when it was on sale, and although still pricy for a 4070 laptop, I couldn't resist the absolute tank of build quality it is. It may be on the hotter side of the keyboard but whenever you run high-intensity applications or gaming, it never seems to thermal throttle, even at the max settings. The battery is excellent for this laptop especially since it packs up to 99w hr battery, the legal limit for air flight. I run mine on conservative mode which charges up to 80% percent, because I plan to use this laptop for a long time. This laptop has everything you need all around, I highly recommend it!

After 2 months of owning this laptop I've been nothing but impressed! The screen quality is absolutely fantastic! The performance hasn't waivered once throughout any of the many hours of gameplay, I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone whether they are new to PC gaming or looking to upgrade to a newer machine!

Extremely happy with this laptop. It runs most everything I throw at it at ultra settings. I did add an additional 32GB RAM and a 2TB nvme but I was expecting to add that anyways. Generally speaking I run it plugged in and run the dgpu but on the igpu battery life is as expected (it’s a gaming laptop, can’t fault it for that).

I love it. Works beautifully out of the box and the look and feel is on par if not better than MacBooks. Performance wise this thing should satisfy power users and gamers alike. I am both and wanted this machine for the keyboard and the power it has underneath the hood.

This computer has the build quality of an Ultrabook, but all of the raw power of a gaming laptop. I use this laptop for gaming and generative AI applications. Its a blast to use and feels oh so premium. I would totally recommend this laptop to someone with the budget.

Bought this for work and some casual gaming when I don't feel like using my desktop PC. So far it has been excellent! This is my first gaming laptop and I wanted something that looked professional but packed a punch and this fit the bill perfectly. The build quality is amazing, and everything is sleek and well finished. I also love how Lenovo still uses a number pad, which is a must have for me working with numbers on a daily basis.
I have yet to find any cons with this laptop and I will update if I have any issues. Highly recommend this for the working professional who likes to game as well!

This laptop checked all my boxes. Premium all metal chassis, bright screen, nice tactile keyboard (with numpad), slim and light for a 16 inch gaming laptop. And it doesn’t look like a gaming laptop. It’s a little pricey for the performance but if you want a nice thin and light 16” gaming labtop this gets my vote.

So fast, so graphics! It's a little loud with the fans but i guess if you take it out of Performance mode it might be okay. Pretty light considering and no one believes how powerful it is cause of how small it is. The RGB keyboard is gorgeous too.

Love this laptop! This is absolutely the slimmest lap time you can buy with a 40 70 inside. Has lots of great features a good screen capable of 2 m.2 ssds it comes with 16 GB Ram soldered on board but you can add another 16 gig module and have 32 gig which is plenty for 99% of people. Great gaming speed high refresh rate screen with a number pad for work functions and charges from usb c. An absolute great all around laptop it's not too heavy and has compact proportions for its class anything else with this kind of horsepower is usually a lot thicker. Highly recommend it!

Great Value, Hits 90+ FPS In Games

Light but sturdy, good battery life, powerful. Keyboard is adequate but not amazing. Really like the glowing icons on the back showing which plug is USB/HDMI/Power, so that you can plug things in without having to turn the laptop over to find which plug is which. The 4070 is more than good enough to run even new games at 90+ fps since the screen is only WQXGA. Was tempted by the 4080/4090 of other more expensive laptops, but paying a lot more to go from 90 to 105 FPS just doesn't make sense. The fans get loud, be prepared to use headphones. A great value when on sale for around $1800.

Great laptop in light package! Plays the latest AAA games with ease, doesn’t weight your bag down and doesn’t get unbearably hot under heavy loads. Highly recommend!
