If the device is under heavy workload, the battery will continue to drain, but the device will continue to perform, using the AC power to run the device rather than charge the battery. Excellent Entry Level Gaming Laptop

For what it is it’s an excellent general use laptop and a fair entry level gaming laptop. 1TB of storage lets you save large downloads, and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX Ti graphics card provides fluid smooth Full HD visuals on lesser graphic demanding games. This Lenovo Legion gaming laptop has 16GB of RAM and a hexa-core Intel Core i7 processor for speedy responsive gameplay performance. Smooth crisp non jittery display and great sound, again on less demanding games. Its large-capacity 1TB hard drive at 7200 rpm provides tons storage, with a 16GB solid state drive as a cache to speed up start times and quickly access frequently needed data. The built in Harmon/Kardon speakers create a virtual surround sound to enhance game play. The Next-generation wireless connectivity of the Legion effortlessly connects to your network or hotspots on all current Wi-Fi standards. Connect to a Wireless-AC router for speed nearly 3x faster than Wireless-N. The Gigabit Ethernet LAN port also plugs into wired networks. The cooling system keeps the unit cooler than any other laptop I have owned. As I mentioned this is also a great general use laptop, but especially oriented to gaming and its an awesome thing to have for high resolution digital video and photo processing and editing. This is actually our second Y 530, the first being the 8 gig model, which I nearly instantly added another 8 gig to, making it the equivalent of this one. I decided to save myself the time and trouble and just get the 16 gig to begin with this time. All but the heavy near pro high graphics gamer should be very happy with this unassuming looking laptop, no need to advertise the fact that you have a gaming laptop in public, or heck even at work! LOL

Posted .The Lenovo Legion Y530 laptop ships with both voice guided directions as well as on screen directions for the initial setup of Windows 10. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. If you need further assistance, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Your grandson can keep his Legion Y530 running at its optimum by keeping the Windows 10 operating system as well as the BIOS files and drivers supporting the operating system, up to date. This is easily accomplished by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.
