Posted .The Lenovo Legion Y530 laptop ships with the powerful Six-Core/Twelve-Thread Intel Core i7-8750H processor, supported by 16GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM. The 1TB standard 7200 RPM hard drive is supported by 16GB of Intel Optane Memory, giving the large capacity standard hard drive, the performance of a solid state hard drive for boot up and access to the most used programs and files by the specific user. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Had it for 3 days then this. Now on vacation having to return and get something different because I sure don’t want this one again.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Legion Y530 laptop. From the description of the issue you provide it sounds like resetting the device back to original factory settings may correct the issue. Since your model configuration has Intel Optane Memory, you must first turn off Optane Memory before your restore the system. To restore system, Optane must be disabled first in the BIOS
o Power down system, power back on and press F2 to enter BIOS setup
o BIOS setup > Configuration > Storage > Intel® Rapid Storage technology > Intel Optane, 931.5GB > Disable > Are you sure you want to disable > Yes > Disable
o Wait for 3 minutes
o The Disable process should be finished and there will be (2) non-RAID physical disks
o Press F10 to Save and Exit
- The system should now be able to be Restored
- After restoring, you will need to open the Optane UI from the task bar and choose Setup > Enable > Select “Erase all data on Intel “Optane” memory module > Continue > Restart. Now you can restore the Windows 10 operating system to factory original settings by following the instructions at this link: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/reset-windows-10-pc. Be sure to re-enable the Optane Memory after you restore the system, then restart the device, as listed above. Great Laptop for a Gamer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Lenovo Y530 is a solid choice for someone looking to play PC games in Full HD (1080P). The Good: Very good gaming performance. The GTX 1050TI can run most games well at high settings, not ultra. I have used SSHD's in the past and have not been impressed. The Intel Optane drive that ships on this unit is impressive. Boot times are incredibly short, game load times are better than other SSHD's I have used as well. 16 GB of RAM is really nice, as doing anything in addition to gaming with only 8 GB of RAM will consume most of your system memory. The form factor of this laptop does not scream "Gamer" which I really like. The Bad: I don't really have anything bad to say about this computer, but there are some quirks. The SSHD performs very well, but a dedicated SSD would really seal the deal. Battery life while gaming will only net you a few hours, you really need to be plugged in to play games optimally. If you are big into video conferencing, you may want to look else where. The built in webcam is installed beneath the screen, so your chat partners will be looking up your nose, which is a bit strange. If you are looking for a laptop that can blend in at work, school, etc and still be able to play games at high settings, I would give this machine a look. I am happy that I did.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Legion Y530 laptop. The reason for the web cam being on the bottom of the screen is to keep the three outside bezels of the screen as narrow as possible, while keeping the viewable area as large as possible within a 15.6" screen (measured diagonally).

With regard to hard drive issues, this issue may be fixed by restoring Windows 10 back to original factory settings. To restore system, Optane must be disabled first in the BIOS
