Posted .We are sorry to hear that you had issues with your Lenovo Legion Y530- laptop. Concerning cooling within the Legion Y530, it features a dual-channel thermal system, offering multiple benefits: individual CPU and GPU cooling, for cooler system temperatures; four thermal vents, for improved airflow; and 70 individual fan blades per channel, to reduce system noise. Concerning the screen going black. Be sure any games/software you have installed is compatible with Windows 10. If you can not boot the device due to a black screen, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the USB port on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A real drawback to this model is that you can't swap out the 1TB 7200 RPM HDD with an SSD. 7200 RPM is great, but with SSDs around and getting more affordable by the day, even a 64GB SSD would significantly improve speed and performance. Why they made this not user upgradeable is beyond me, I'm sure they have their reasons. I would have preferred even a 128 GB SSD with an extra internal slot to add in your own 2.5" HDD, but the form factor may have needed to be bigger in order to accomplish this. Despite this negativity, this computer is still a beast, especially for the price! Technology improves so quickly, my laptop from 10 years ago and 5 years ago are so outdated compared to this and I paid the same price. The specs are great. This is a truly capable on-the-go laptop. 8GB of RAM is plenty, but I would honestly just pay the $100 extra for the upgrade to 16GB of RAM, especially since you can't upgrade it yourself. Aesthetically, I like the overall look, and the fans make it seem like it can fly or hover off the ground.

It was discounted for me so it was a steal at below 500. Would recommend for lighter workloads or game play.

Now I know that even though it is in fact highER end than your average laptop, its not too much better. Buy this for something simple like Minecraft or something. If you're looking for something that can play FPS or something with moderately good graphics, look somewhere else because this thing is easy to overload and it will force quit most games.
