Just long enough that it isn't covered under warranty. Nothing from my best buy protection. I miss the days when you bought a microwave and it lasted a decade. Looking for a new microwave, probably will steer clear of LG.

Defective control panel

The microwave died less than a month after purchase. Best Buy won't exchange it. LG didn't offer an exchange or return when Icalled. I was told a repair shop would come to the house. They had to order a part. It's been a week, still waiting. LG made a follow-up call where I was told home repairs were not covered under the warranty. I explained I was given no other option. The rep said they would then cover it because of the mix-up, I assume. I think BB should have allowed an exchange. My former LG microwave lasted for years, this one less than a month.

Worst Purchase

My wife was warming up previously fried bacon on a paper plate with a paper towel to cover it to avoid any possible splatter when sparks started to fly. The brown plastic roller frame under the revolving glass plate was chared black in a section . We have done this many times before without issue. I rarely post reviews let alone negative posts. I felt I had to let the buyer be aware. I know better than to waste my time trying to pursue the 1 year warranty. Purchased a new microwave from a competitor. I will continue to consider Best Buy after doing business with them for over 30 years with much reservation.

LG Keypad is simply awful

This oven has the worst keypad imaginable. No tactile feedback. No visual cue for the location of each button. Hard to believe LG couldn’t design an ergonomic keypad.

Good microwave bad glass door design

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was a good microwave and happy with it for 2 months but beware that there is glass on the front door that is not protected and very vulnerable to a chip and then glass disintegrates making microwave useless. Best Buy would not honor money back or exchange because bumping it and chipping was out fault. Anyone could bump this with anything and it will chip and fail. Out $140 and protection plan. Best took for recycling at least. All other microwaves have the front glass protected from bumps and items falling.
