A good choice for a countertop microwave
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our built in Whirlpool microwave died suddenly after 19 years. Not a bad lifetime. However, when we went to replace it, we discovered that it and the cabinet enclosure built for it were a non-standard size and small to boot. Also, it was hardwired. Not being electricians, we would have doubled our replacement cost by having to hire an electrician. This LG microwave currently is at the top of Consumer Reports' list. Price is very reasonable for this size of oven. And replacing a built-in with a countertop model is half as costly for us, since we don't need to hire an electrician. Its only major drawback is that it takes up a sizeable chunk of countertop space. The microwave operation is conventional and intuitive (although it always is helpful to review the guide for more subtle features). Noise level is modest, which is a big plus. Some reviewers complain about the chimes, but they are not loud and strike us as pleasant and relatively unobtrusive. The microwave is a bit more powerful than our older model, so we are finding that we need to reduce the cooking times that we are used to just a little bit (which is a plus). The sensor cooking, however, does not work optimally and tends to overcook. However, our experience with it is limited at this point, so it may only be certain foods for which this is a problem. If appearance is important, this microwave looks very sleek.

Meets my needs in functionality, size, power, ease
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with the functionality and power of this microwave. Opening the door again by pressing the special part of the front panel took a little getting used to after having an LG model that one pulled open on the right side. The various chimes that indicate that the food has just stopped heating or that it is waiting to be removed are very pleasant to the ear. It is amusing that the oven will cue you with the word "FOOD" if you set a cooking time and press start without putting any food into the oven. The oven interior is quite spacious, with a more-than-adequately-sized revolving glass tray of substantial weight and quality, I disabled the button that makes door opening child-resistant because that feature is not needed in our home. I like the fact that I can now set heating time in increments of single seconds; my last LG microwave only allowed ten-second increments. I had some difficulty in setting the clock, having to unplug the oven when I discovered that I had inadvertently set the wrong time. One change that I would make would be in the appearance of the oven: I prefer more stainless steel and less black in the front frame of the oven.

Great choice!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Polite, pleasant, and efficient are the adjectives I’d use for this great, compact but powerful, microwave oven. Its sounds are cheerful and non-annoying. The general noise level of operation is low. It’s speedy and larger inside than I thought — but not a Tardis (sorry for the “Dr. Who” reference). The only thing I would wish for/change is a lighted display for late night snacks when you have low light.

Good Microwave
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Clean and pretty appearance along with good performance makes this a good choice for a new Microwave. A big advantage of this unit is that my wife who is blind can use it. This is due to a nice feature that enables anyone to push a location on the front panel to start a 30 second cook cycle. And it chimes when starting and stopping. It fits well in any Kitchen and is highly recommended.

Very precise and flexible run-time setting.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Old one died, picked this one up quickly. Works well. No loud buzz or chime when done, but that doesn't bother me. What I especially like is that setting cook time is simple and direct. "Type" in 33 or 111 and "go" and it runs for thirty-three seconds, one minute eleven seconds, etc. It also has a 30-second button, but our other microwave was limited to whole and half minutes.

Bespokie dokie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Larger, simpler and more elegant than I expected, this microwave oven exceeded my expectations in every practical way some ways that feel bespoke or customized just for me ... like the 24hour clock option that happens to tickle my fancy, and the cool ways to cook stuff that are simpler and even more user-friendly than was true the last time I bought a microwave. The DONE chime could be louder or I could shut up and listen for it. End quibble.

It’s been amazing so far
|Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[Employee of bestbuy] My only small complaint was that the child lock was a bit difficult to disable at first but once we got that out of the way, it was a breeze. We love the color and the finish, as it matches perfectly with our countertops. Very simple, and easy to use microwave.

Powerful and sleek
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks great. Noisy. Mine was missing feet. Bought 4 LG microwaves over the years. Quality is meh. The turntable on the larger models kept breaking, so the plate wouldn't spin. This one has a more reliable setup, however the rolling frame under the glass tray is noisy and the wheels audibly drag inside the unit. There's substantially less sound deadening than my previous LG microwave of the same size. The epoxy coating on the inside is a gray color, but it doesn't seem as easy to clean as some other brand's coatings. But it looks good, the door mechanism seems reliable, and it's pretty powerful. I don't use the smart features, so I feel like these drive up the price. I have noticed less EMF noise when using this unit vs the old one. Not sure what changed, but my wireless devices don't go on the fritz when using it. I also enjoy the button selection, though the tactility of the buttons could be improved. At least I can select 12 seconds cook time if I want to, which is honestly an improvement over the other microwaves. Why is it so hard to put number buttons that work well? Powerful, sleek, and good feature set with buttons! But a little louder than the old one, quality control is meh.

Great oven except for display light
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great microwave, easy to set up and use. heats up food very well. I like the safety child lock that prevents the door being open by kids or accident. The only thing i did not like was that the display is not lit up other than the clock, so it makes it difficult to see to see the buttons when oven is on a counter that does not have light.

Good, not great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve had this microwave for a few weeks now. What I like is the size, it has good power, and the buttons are uncomplicated. What I don’t like is the “add 30 seconds” button is unclear where to push. And often doesn’t engage when I push the same spot. I feel like I have to hit a moving target. Would I buy it again? Probably. But I can’t endorse it completely.

Love the inverter style power levels
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this particular microwave for the inverter feature and am quite pleased with how it works. Instead of on again/off again at lower setting it actually puts out a lower consistent power thereby heating the food much more evenly without boiling over as much or drying out the edges. I am quite pleased with the microwave, but noticed a few things that could be improved. When selecting a lower power setting there is no indication of this on the display. It makes you wonder if you hit the button sequence properly or if it is on full power by mistake. I got used to pressing the buttons on my previous microwave very quickly, but on this one you must physically remove your finger from the touch pad to hit the same number twice. I think my previous microwave had a pressure pad while this one is more like a cellphone. I'm getting used to it. Finally, the numbers on the touchpad are very hard to see at counter level. It would have been nice if they were backlit. On a positive note, it is quite easy to get full power in 30 second increments by simply hitting one button multiple times. Overall I'm quite pleased with this microwave and consider the issues above to be minor annoyances.
