I am completely dissatisfied with the LMV1831ST

Bought it to replace a previous model that died earlier than I expected but went with the newest model anyway because entire kitchen was LG. In the few years since I bought the previous model LMV1813, LG removed so much value from the current model LMV1831, that I am so dissatisfied with it, that I will never buy LG products again. LG's spec sheet and the photo BB use for the product show a properly illuminated keypad with a green clock. LG removed the keypad backlighting and the keypad is not illuminated. You cannot see the controls on the keypad without using a flashlight! LG also removed 75% of the mounting bracket supplied with the previous model making installation more prone to error. LG supplies a much smaller glass turntable than the previous model. LG provides 2 small filters with much less area than the one large filter on previous model. Seeing that LG removed as much value as they could from visible features, I dread to find out how much value they probably removed from the internal working parts. I cannot recommend that anyone purchase this inferior microwave.

Failed after 3 weeks

After 3 weeks it stopped heating at all, although the lights, timer, fan, etc still functioned. I contacted LG and it will be almost 2 weeks before their authorized repairman can come out to see what is wrong with it. I’ll have to wait for a second appointment if they need to order a part. Maybe I got a bad unit, but I’m very disappointed with the product and the wait time for a warranty repair.
