Didnt last but 5 years. Number lighting went out. Poop on LG

Item was on sale this week so rather than ordering one from Amazon online, I traveled to the local Best Buy (20Mi) to pick one up. After a lot of online research I decided on this model, because it was ranked high. My last Kenmore microwave lasted over 30 years, it only required a new light bulb, so I havnt looked at new one for a while. Seems like the new ones are not built as reliable as the old ones, because after reading many reviews, they sound like you are lucky to get 3-5 years out of the new ones. Good thing that I purchased it at Best Buy. I opened the box and the first thing I noticed were multiple scratches on the front stainless plate. I tried to rub them off with my finger, no luck, they were real scratches. I also noticed that fingerprints are nearly impossible to remove from this front panel. Makes me really wonder how this unit could pass thru quality control with a scratched up front panel, and Im wondering if there really are any other quality issues in this oven. Im also wondering if these are refurbished units, and that's why they are on sale. So now I have to drive back to return the unit and get my money back. Mo more LG products for me. Unfortunately this unit was ranked pretty high, and I may now have to settle for a lower ranked other brand.

I have never seen a microwave where the clock does not stay on. They designed it to turn off after 5 minutes to save energy, pennies a year. So they want you to buy a kitchen clock and spend more power powering the clock and waster money and energy. Nice design LG.

It worked beautifully for 14 months, and the magnatron died 2 months out of the one year parts/service warranty. Even tough the magnatron is warrantied for 8 years, it costs over $100 for the labor to replace it, AND you have to haul the microwave in to a service center (or pay another $100 plus to have a technician come to you.) The "warranty" costs more than buying another microwave. This is basically a disposable appliance. Sad. And, I pretty much have to buy another one to fit in the space/trim kit that I have. More sad.

I have man products by LG and have always been highly satisfied. The microwave broke after 2 yrs. The most annoying thing is that I paid for the extended warranty but it expired 2 mths ago. Bleh.

Worked fine for 4 months then completely died. Yes, 4 months and now back to Best Buy to return.

Just as my summary says this microwave quit working less than 6 months after I bought it. I am not a heavy microwave user just the usual re-heating. Not happy with this product at all!

It's as if it knew that the warranty had expired! Just decided it would no longer work.

Bought this in March of this year and it has been making a horrible noise like gear is going out.

This microwave worked great for the first year, now it won't stop running without unplugging it.
