After purchase & install it completely died 3 weeks later. No exterior or interior light, no display, & the keypad was unresponsive. Took it back for an exchange inside the 30 day window. The 2nd unit has been working for 10 days, & fingers are crossed it stays that way. It does heat very well, & the noise coming from it has a lower pitch than previously owned MW's, so it doesn't sound as intrusive. The extendable vent is a neat feature, & it does exhaust very well.

I ordered this microwave online and picked up in Jacksonville, FL on November 1, 2011. My unit appeared new in the box, but upon closer inspection has a misaligned door with two small dents/blemishes similar to the another reviewer's description below. I initially figured I would just live with its shortcomings, but now this thing pops a dedicated 20 AMP circuit breaker randomly several times a day. I'm also outside of the 30 day return window, so it looks like I'm stuck with this lemon. Currently attempting a warranty repair on the unit, but something tells me this thing will be on the corner in a couple of weeks and I'll be shelling out another $300 for yet another replacement microwave! Leaves me wondering if this LG product is just shoddy or Best Buy is turning around their customer returns for resale devoid of any quality assurance process.

We have had this microwave for over 6 months now and hate it. LG has been out twice to service it and cannot fix the problem, Further, their rude service techs refuse to admit that there is a problem. It makes a terrible squealing noise that comes from the disc that the glass sits on. The noise is unbearable. LG claims that the microwave is dirty. But it is spotless and we have tried cleaning after and before every single use, which made no difference and gets old really fast. I'm replacing it with something else. Complete waste of $350-$400.

After calling LG customer service and hearing too bad because your microwave is not in warranty anymore and reading numerous negative reviews on consumer reports I will never buy an LG appliance again. It was the newest appliance in our house and only lasted 1.5 years. I don't have money to waste. The product worked well when it worked but it's not worth the headache.

Display has a "ticker tape" line below the time display which displays options for various cooking settings. This display is mounted so far behind the front panel that when the microwave is installed at normal height, you cannot see the lower display line unless you are really tall. This made it totally unusable for me.

Our unit overheated and died while in use. Technician came out to repair and indicated that he has seen this repeatedly. Unit had same issue again after it was "repaired". LG has not resolved this and stuck with unit.

Drawer vent would not close on 1st model. Same door on 2nd model bent and crooked.
