Engineers who will never install this product

But, the engineers designed this blind to real world installations. This microwave says that it needs 30" width to install. That is very common. What is not common is that the engineers made the door pivotal extra inch on the left side. So if you have a wall oven next to your cooktop, as I do and is not unheard of, you can not open the microwave door. If your cooktop is next to wall, you might run into the same issue, Due to lack of insight these Samsung engineers engineered a microwave that excludes some kitchens that have the minimum 30" clearance that is standard in the industry, but don't fit into the generic 12" deep wall cabinets on either side of the microwave. This is really sad on the part of Samsung.

Lasted 14mo, Warranty meaningless

Issues with Washer/Dryer early failure and warranty in the same pattern as this microwave. Chased warranty from home warranty, to Best Buy, to Best Buy electronic repair, to LG corp. Simple Magnetron 10yr joke warranty ($45 part) turned into $300 warranty repair Could not even purchase part through LG or Sears. Phone help desk 35min to 1 hr hold, before transfer to Executive Help Dept (complete with repeating brainwash message every 15 seconds) then no satisfaction. The product should not have failed in the first place but support is even worse. Would never recommend an LG Appliance to a friend

Waste of time and money...poor design

Meaning touchpad is shorted out. $400 for a microwave that lasts for 23 months is not acceptable. To make matters worse the repair part is not available. So I will be forced to replace this microwave. Cannot see food cooking because of black panel inside of the door. Stupid design. My suggestion would be to pass on this model and brand. First and most likely last LG appliance I purchase. Had a GE before that lasted well over ten years.

Poorly made

cheap plastic door broke - not only LG issue

LG brought us a new door but it's the same cheap plastic. If this were a one time thing, I would understand - things happen. However, our very expensive, high end LG fridge also broke. The paddle frame was also made of the same cheap breakable plastic. Then the compressor and heating elements failed separately. Shortly afterwards, the microwave began to fail electronically. LG lost our business for ever. Buying a stove from another company this weekend.

Issues right out of the box

After a few months it began making a grinding sound. We were forced to make an appointment with LG. Parts were ordered but the appointment was cancelled due to parts not being in. Twice the parts were delivered to the wrong address despite fixing the info repeatedly. This is a summary of our trouble. I don’t want this or any other LG microwave.

Broke twice in under three years

The first time LG repaired it under warranty. The magnetron warranty is 10 years but only for the part. It broke again and they refused to pay for service. I would not purchase this product again and I am not paying more money to have it repaired even if they cover the part.

Poor Quality

This Product, the LH2031ST Microwave is HORRIBLE

As of this moment, I have had FOUR, replacements. The motor has gone out. The fuse has blown. The original arrived with multiple dents. Do Not Buy!!! And if you do, don't bother with GeekSquad. These guys will find any reason to not perform the service job. Save your money. If this were a car I believe the Lemon Law would apply. Buy something else. Or at least from somewhere else.

Avoid this microwave! Didn't last 18 months!

LG covers it for 12 months, microwave lasted 16 months with little use. Everything put into the microwave arcs and gets burn marks on it. Now the door is arcing to the base and getting burn marks too. Very dangerous to have an appliance that you can't trust enough to walk away from. LG used to mean a good brand to me, I now see that's not the case. So learn from my mistake! Avoid LG when at all possible.

low heat and crapped out

DO NOT PURCHASE!

Last week it began burning food that was only placed on reheat in the oven for 1 minute. Now it doesnt work! Total garbage!

Don’t plan on cooking anything more than 10 min

Not reliable

LG sent out a company to repair it after waiting for several weeks because their customer service is terrible. They replaced the entire internal wiring. Starting working. Now a year later, it broke again. Too many headaches.

Horrible Microwave

I waited 6 weeks for the replacement part to come in and was assured it was a quirk and it's fine. that means 6 weeks without a microwave?? now it broke again. the motor blew out and it's less then a year old. I'd Neverl buy an LG again.

Bad unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit the first week of November unit failed less than 60 days later best buy said it is over 15 days old, deal with company I've now had to wait over a week for a service technician to come and look at it and I'm looking at potentially two to three weeks before I have a serviceable microwave they hope.

Very disappointed

We rather buy another microwave than fixing it because we would spend the same money. All our appliances are from LG we are afraid they will stop working too :/

Unreliable

Door too big

Won’t open when installed in standard cabinet

The microwave door requires more clearance than is available at the 30” width, and won’t open. Ridiculous design. Nothing but problems with LG appliance design in our new kitchen. This goes back.
