I purchased this at a best buy store thinking it was a 4.1 channel bar but it turns out that its listed wrong on Bestbuy.com. If you look it up on LG's site it says it is a 2.1 channel soundbar. Its still a good bar at a good price. Just know you're getting a 2.1 channel not a 4.1. Its sounds great though

Pairing and overall build quality seemed to be lacking.

I first bought a Sony Sound Plate, but not enough bass/subwoofer. I wanted something with more of the cinema experience capability. To get that, a sound bar with a separate subwoofer is essential. The LG SH4 goes way beyond what a tv can do, and does much better than an all-in-one sound bar/plate. It has three settings. Standard, Cinema, and ASC (adaptive sound control). They are all strong settings but cinema will knock the socks off. The sound feels like it is everywhere and coming from different directions. It has more of an overall effect so the voices of the characters may be less prominent. Standard switches the equation around a bit and makes the voices more prominent. ASC optimizes the sound in real time, supposedly. I can't tell much difference from standard however. The subwoofer has more than enough ooomph (for me anyway, I could turn it up much louder if I wanted) to get that rumble - like say, when Harry Potter gets tons letters all at once through the fireplace. I was concerned about setting up the wireless subwoofer. Turns out all that has to be done is plug it in, it will pair with the main unit by itself. It can be plugged in across the room if one wishes to fill the room with more sound without issues. So yes, for the money ($220.00 after $50 off) its definitely worth it.

Picked up this TV for $500. Best price that I have seen. My 2nd LG big screen. Excellent picture & sound.

In three weeks it’ll be six years that I’ve had this sound bar and sub woofer. The sound is good, and it is still running strong. I’ve been impressed with the sound bar. Excellent sound bar for the price.

Read a lot of reviews....basically all the top ones get 4-5 great reviews...and then a bad one. So it seems just depends on what you expect, how you set it up, and what bad luck you may get in any one item. This LG is plug-n-play.....very simple. Some reviews say you need to do ''this and that'' to get it working. Mine plugged in with all cables/plugs expected to go.....the sub fired up immediately, pairing with the soundbar without ANY additional steps from me. The soundbar fired up immediately after hitting the power button. Sounds very good for a bedroom, especially when you turn it up (obviously at low volume you don't really hear much differently from TV speakers). Instructions suck.....just use intuition and maybe a YouTube video if not sure. It's simpler than it looks. The Bluetooth for iPad Spotify works immediately and excellently. Surprised, actually, how easy it is to tune in. Got it on sale for $179.....+ 10% off for BB Visa card use....very good deal!

This was my first time using Bluetooth from my laptop so it took awhile to understand and set it up but it works flawlessly playing my MP3s. I don't even have the wide screen yet I bought it for and already happy

Great product. It automatically turns on when you connect it via Bluetooth, that's great. Sounds fantastic. Subwoofer is strong but not overwhelming. However, when I play music though the via Bluetooth, it'll start skipping like you're running with a CD player. That's really really annoying. I'm wishing I could take it back, but it's too late for that.

This is an excellent product. It paired well with 5 year old LG 42LV5500 TV. The sound quality of this soundbar and woofer is great. It worked with optical cable and HDMI as well. I got a free bonus bluetooth speaker LG NP5550B with this product. I love the mini bluetooth speaker very much. I use that in the bathroom while taking shower and in kitchen while cooking. I paid $200 for both. Very much worth it. Thanks LG and thanks Bestbuy.

Awesome sound clarity! Great Bass ! All around sound effects are terrific! I'll rephrase my statement it's very low profile not small The technology, gives you big sound without taking up all that space , it's Bluetooth also , so you can put the subwoofer wherever you want to without the hassle of the wiring. I am using the optical cable option, but you can also use the HDMI. Great Unit for the price

I revised dozens of sound bars and chose this one based on price and reviews. It would get 5 stars if it had numbers and letters on the display. The sound is great and the subwoofer is surprisingly good. Happy with this purchase

For $200 I got the sound bar and the LG blue tooth speaker. $400 worth of electronics for $200. Everything works and sounds great.

Recently purchased a new tv and needed to update our sound system because the tv's speakers were not producing a great sound. This sound bar really exceeded our expectations! For such affordable price it comes with great sound. It comes with subwoofer that you can adjust levels to (so you don't get noise complaints from your neighbors) :) we haven't had any issues connected it via Bluetooth to our tv or even our phones to stream music through. Would definitely recommend it to a friend

Sounds is very clear and very loud! Fixes a could of the issues I've been having w tv like blown speaker squeaking and audio delay. Relatively easy to use also there is some user error based on my electronic incompetence lol

I'm giving this two stars because the bluetooth seems to not know what it's doing. this sound bar allows you to connect via optical audio cable to your TV, and also allows you to pair your phone or other device to play music via bluetooth. I have found that connecting my phone via bluetooth messes up the unit, and it will not automatically switch on to the optical audio when i turn on the TV (also an LG). I have to go behind the TV, unplug the optical, and plug it back in again to sort of reset the sound bar. Using the included remote to switch the input method is ineffective. This is very annoying and I will not buy another LG sound bar. If you have NO intention to ever try to use this unit for Bluetooth audio playback via your phone, then maybe that won't annoy you. The sound quality, for a relatively inexpensive sound bar, is fine and the wireless subsoofer adds nice bass. PS - If anyone reads this and has a solution to the switching inputs problem I've described above please do reply to this post. I'd appreciate it.

Good Quality. Sound is clear. The only negative thing I have to say about product is about the big speaker it comes with. Echos to much if you have it on with regular TV. Best to use it you watch a movie to get a theater experience.

This is my first sound bar so I don't have any previous experience. But this is excellent. Easy to setup. Subwoofer is great. It connected to my LG 4K TV without any issues using Bluetooth. I do have an option to connect using HDMI and Digital Optical cable which is great. It does produce cinema quality sound. Happy with purchase.

After 10 years of using our very old Sony Dream system, I was so happy to pick this up and was surprised at how easy this was to set up. One cord from the sound bar to the tv and plug it into the wall. WOW! The sub is bluetooth paired to the sound bar so now I can put this anywhere else in the room without having to hide wires. The sound quality is excellent and the night mode comes in handy when watching war movies late at night. We currently have this connected to our Sony TV until our LG one arrives and it syncs perfectly. When we power up the TV the soundbar automatically comes on. I love it! I am hoping when the LG tv arrives, we can use just one remote to control both the soundbar and TV. Right now we need to keep both handy. Compact with great clear sound. I'm very happy with this purchase.
