It has 3 settings based on how you want to listen through it. Standard-for every day watching, voice- when you want to emphasize on what is being said or cinema- which has lots of bass and is like being at the movie theater.

Not recommended for large room

(They were watching NCIS with closed captions because they could not clearly hear dialogue.). It sounds great for the price, and I was able to adjust it so that dialogue is foregrounded. My only complaint is that the soundbar won't automatically turn on with the TV, and they forget to use it. It does, however, turn off automatically.
