One year out and couldn't be happier
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to wait a while to write reviews on my new appliances. This LG fridge is really nice. First of all, it fits exactly in my space, with only 1/8" on both sides and the counter depth is wonderful. My old one was a small, basic fridge, and still stuck out awkwardly 6 more inches into my kitchen. This fridge rolled in nicely into the space. Be sure to adjust the feet to lock it down or it will roll forward when you open the freezer door. The fridge is very attractive in my kitchen, but I cannot get rid of the streaks on the stainless steel no matter what I do. I've tried the recommended cleaning with just a damp cloth with water and I've tried various specialty cleaners. Nothing, NOTHING, ever works to get rid of the streaks and every time you touch it, it leaves marks. My other kitchen appliances are also stainless steel by different makers and this LG fridge has the most difficult finish to clean. The fridge runs very quietly. I never notice it. The ice maker makes the usual noises, but most of the time I don't use it because my tap water is lousy. The door alarm may be a nice feature for some, but the beeps scare my dogs so I turn it off. The lighting in the fridge is really nice. I find the storage more than adequate. For being shorter depth than other fridges, I can still get a pizza box in. I've never not been able to fit something in like a large platter or a whole turkey. My Mom has the LG fridge, regular depth, and she likes mine better because it's easier to get to everything. That is very true. No losing items in the back of shelves. I live alone, but am a foodie and cook a lot, so I keep the fridge pretty full. I find that it holds a lot. The doors hold a lot more since there's no water dispenser taking up room. I removed one of the door bins to accommodate tall bottles, like wine, and don't miss there being one fewer bin. I actually use it inside the fridge to hold all my breakfast items. I could do without the deli bin. I does hold cheese and deli meat nicely, but I dislike having to open both doors to get to it. I'm thinking of removing the deli bin and just using the open space. For everything else I usually just open one door. It's a squeeze to get a head of lettuce or cabbage in the vegetable bins, but hey, you could also cut them in half before storing them. I don't find the size to be much of a problem. The freezer holds a surprising amount too. I like the pull-out basket especially, because you have to dig through everything in the bottom freezer bins. I do have a small chest freezer though, because I store a lot of meat and frozen chiles. I know a lot of people would not like the absence of a water and ice dispenser, but personally, I dislike the water from those and the maintenance. Plus it looks so much better and uses space better without it. I keep a pitcher of my bottled water in the door. If you want a fridge that functions well, looks great, and doesn't stick out too much, this LG would be a great choice. I would buy it again.

Happy with LG French-door refrig
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this about a year ago to replace a regular Maytag frig. We wanted a counter-depth frig for some time, but were unable to find a unit that would fit into the limited-size alcove in our kitchen. This is a tight fit -- but it fits! The lighting is great, the pull-out freezer baskets are great, and upper space is fine for 2 adults. Wish they had made 2 crisper drawers--one bigger, one smaller-- instead of the 2 regular & 1 small. The wide deli drawer is fine. The ice maker/bin is better than sacrificing space above. I use an ice scoop, and like the separate On/Off switch on the ice maker for when we are gone on vacation. (We turn off the main water valve -- no flooded basement here!) I definitely prefer the eye-level shelves and smaller upper doors. The 2 middle door shelves are moveable, and can hold tall wine bottles. They were stubborn to move, so maybe that's why other reviewers think they aren't moveable. I would prefer the SS surface to be easier to clean & not show marks/fingerprints. All in all, we would buy this again!!

Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was purchased during the Black Friday sale. Wanted counter depth and stainless. The storage drawers for veggies and coldcuts have plenty of room and keep things sorted for easy access. Very impressed with the amount of storage available on the doors. Also impressed with the amount of freezer space and the way it's organized. Very quiet!

Very good, efficient counter-depth fridge.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately, I could not find this model on a showroom floor to examine it before purchasing. It's a nice fridge all around, but there are some things that have me scratching my head. The good points first. It's roomy and convenient for a counter-depth fridge, especially one under 69" tall to fit under our top cabinets. The sliding shelves, overall appearance, lighting (even in the freezer), door alarm, and on/off switch for the ice maker are all plusses. Quiet, too. For a couple of hours we had the old fridge nearby while we swapped out food. What a difference the new one makes! We couldn't tell it was running, but then again, we do not use the ice maker so the swooshy noise of the water filling and clunk-clunk of dropping ice cubes isn't a factor for us. But I'm wondering if the engineers who designed this model have ever been to a grocery store, purchased food for a family, and packed it into a fridge. How did they make their design decision on the bins, for example? There are 4 vegetable bins: top row has 2 medium-sized ones with a small skinny one in the middle. This skinny little bin can only hold small items, like small lemons, small tangerines, a small head of celery, a small bag/bunch of carrots, cucumbers. You get the picture: more than half of your produce won't fit in this bin. It might be good for juice boxes and small fruits for preschoolers, but young kids are too short to reach this bin! Why not get rid of this nearly useless silly bin and make the regular vegetable bins bigger? Would be a lot more useful for our family, that's for sure! Then there's the wide "deli" drawer below the regular bins. It's not very tall, only about 3" clearance inside for food. Yes, you can control the temperature and make it cooler than the rest of the fridge and this is supposed to be for meats. But you can't fit much in this skimpy bin! I even tried putting in one of my serving platters to test it because the deli drawer is supposed to be for deli platters, but I couldn't get my round platter in the drawer. Because it's very short, only items that are flat-shaped can fit, like a sirloin steak, but not a small roast. Even a family pack of hamburger can't fit easily into it unless you squish down the pack. So, if I can't fit most of my meats in this bin, can I fit veggies in it? Well, yes, but not many. It's too short to fit a head of lettuce, grapefruit, or oranges unless they're small ones. Oh, but wait. The user manual says that the deli drawer is NOT for vegetables. So we have the fridge's regular shelves crammed to the gills with food while the sillly little skinny bin and the wide deli drawer are half empty. I'm going to have to deliberately buy food that's packaged to fit in these 2 bins because regular stuff doesn't fit. And lastly there are the door bins. Very well constructed, good quality, nice and deep for wide bottles, but...there aren't very many adjustment hooks. The top and bottom bins can't be adjusted at all, and the middle ones have only 2 choices of alignment. That means that with all of the bins on both doors, you can have only 2 that will fit gallon-size milk jugs and tall litre soda bottles. It's impossible to arrange the door bins to accommodate more. If the engineers had just given me more slider-hooks in the doors so that I could adjust the door bins to fit my family's food needs, I'd be much happier with this fridge. And remove that silly, useless little "whatever" bin in the middle. Who thought up that one?!

Problems in the details
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fridge works wonderful and looks great, no issue there. However I have some details that are still unresolved regarding the installation and delivery. I had spoken to various different agents over the phone regarding the hook up and installation of the fridge and was told that would'nt touch an existing water line to the previous fridge. So I ordered one online, that I still haven't received. Because it is a "special order" I can't cancel it. Than I went out of my way and bought another "ice maker kit" in a local best buy store that I didn't need either. The company who delivered the fridge brought their own new water line, which I was not told in advance. The bigger issue is that the delivery people came to our house late in the afternoon and were very tired. They damaged the kitchen wall and the outside steps with the heavy fridge. So far this issue is unresolved and it has been about a month since it was delivered.

Great purchase!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this refrigerator. Very, very quiet running. The icemaker makes noise when the ice drops and water refills (total of 15 seconds) once a layer of ice is in the bucket the noise is reduced. Great door space! Amazing how much fit in the doors. Adjustable shelves...love that. Freezer also has lots of space with two sliding baskets, one divided. Only complaint is the vegetable bins are not deep enough, because of the counter-depth. Wish they had just made 2 bins but each wider. A stalk of celery does not fit in the bins. Other than that...am very happy considering we had to go with a counter depth size.

Wont last the test of time, poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It all depends on what your expectations are, I would like an appliance such as this to last at least 10 years. This is our 7th year and in the last 2.5 weeks we have had to have it repaired 3 times and now it is not cooling again. We are done with LG or even Samsung as the repair technicians highly recommended avoids those two brands. They reported 50-70 percent of their repairs are for LG and Samsung fridges. For LG it is the poor quality sealed compressors and Samsung well they make them look nice but unreliable. I am sad to say that I would not recommend this product and will avoid all LG appliances in the future.

Buy this fridge, plan on buying a 2nd one too
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a similar model of this LG Refrigerator two years ago. Two months ago the compressor went out. Two months later it is still broken with only dismal prospects for repair. We've spent many hours on the phone speaking to people at Best Buy, LG and their service provider A&E - most of the customer service people have limited English language skills making it particularly exasperating. We understand that appliances break but when you combine poor reliability with terrible customer service you end up going without a fairly essential appliance for months at a time - regardless of whether or not you have an extended warranty. This has been a nightmare and Best Buy has no interest in trying to help with expediting the process. I'd encourage potential buyers to strongly consider a different brand and a different retailer. Or at least budget for the purchase of a 2nd refrigerator just in case this one breaks and you need to wait months for it to be repaired.

Freezer problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the look of the refrigerator, but the freezer has had its problems. We bought it in 2017 and we have since replaced the ice maker. Now it is acting up again as the container of ice cubes turns into chunks of ice daily. Also, for the second time since we bought it, ice is accumulating on the rear wall of the freezer and I am finding frost on the frozen items.

DO NOT BY THIS REFRIGERATOR!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator looks beautiful, it is a great size if you are looking for a counter depth refrigerator. However, after only four years our beautiful stainless steel refrigerator stopped working. I wasn't too worried at first because I remembered something about a warranty. I called LG only to find out that only PARTS are covered under the warranty- not labor. So, in order to fix my refrigerator we would need to spend nearly $400 in labor. We went ahead and had the repair done- we didn't have another 2K to spend on a new unit. The refrigerator never worked well again. The "fix" to the problem was to put a switch on the compressor so it wouldn't over heat- only to have our refrigerator and freezer defrosting every few days until the compressor kicked in and started cooling again. We had to put up with this defrosting issue for another two years until today when it finally died for good. Now, out of warranty LG tells me they can do nothing about it- except for send out a repair tech- which they will charge us for. I'm not willing to spend another dime on this refrigerator. We never should have spent the money on the "warranty" repair (If you could call spending $400 to fix it a warranty). Really, we should never have bought an LG in the first place. I know the good deal may look tempting... and it really is a pretty refrigerator... but this thing will only last you a few years. After that- it is just a big, fat, worthless piece of garbage. Run away fast from an LG appliance. I will never buy one again.

LG's Junk Ice Maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.10 months in, my ice maker started dripping from the back of the fridge; not at the water connection point but at some sort of valve where the lines enter the fridge. Called LG Support, they gave me instructions which I followed and dripping stopped; 11.9 months after purchase water stops going to icemaker. Call LG 2 days after "purchase date" (not install date) and they can't help me. $300 + labor to fix $600. Do your research; the icemaker is junk and it's not even filtered. Way over priced. Skip LG and go with Samsung or Whirlpool and get a 3 year warranty for heaven's sake.

Arrived gouged
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fridge seems fine, but it arrived with two gouges on the side that had been clumsily painted over in the wrong color paint. Unfortunately, it arrived on the middle of a remodel and we didn't notice for two weeks. Best Buy's customer service is garbage.
