    great fridge with some qualifications

Relatively quiet for a modern refrigerator, but more noisy than my previous 20 year old Whirlpool. The annoying high-pitched whine mentioned by some reviewers on the LG.com website does occur, but not often ... maybe once a day?. I got used to the general operation noise pretty quickly. There is a surprising amount of usable space for its narrow 30" width and 21.6CF rated capacity. Unfortunately, the shelves are not nearly as adjustable as they appear, and you may have to remove one if you want to put tall items in the main body of the refrigerator, rather than on the door. Great lighting in both the fresh and frozen sections. The frozen section has a top pull-out shelf section that is large enough for a frozen pizza laying flat and the large removable ice bin, and an enormous bottom bin with a solid floor, slots all around, and an adjustable divider in the middle. Good temperature control, but the fresh section warms rapidly if both doors are opened, even briefly, and you have to open both more often than I thought before picking a French Door design. The stainless steel exterior is easy to clean using liquid soap (Ivory or Dawn) ... which is the recommended method in the manual. A word of warning ... turn the ice maker to the off position BEFORE plugging in the refrigerator, if you haven't hooked up the water line yet ... they ship it in the on position. Also, this fridge does not have a filter for the water ... you have to add it to the incoming water line for the ice maker. If your local store doesn't have this model on display in the store (and they probably won't), download the manual at LG.com to see the actual dimensions and recommended clearances. The delivery crew was quick, efficient, and on-time.

This refrigerator is a very good fit for my limited height dimension, and I am very pleased with the 3-door French door style, which I have not had before. I think I will enjoy this arrangement with bottom freezer. The interior lighting is excellent, and arrangement of shelves and door compartments is quite flexible. I was surprised that the "stainless steel" doors will not hold my collection of magnets, but I now have them on the side. I researched a number of brands and chose LG based on reviews and Consumer Reports recommendations. Very pleased with Best Buy service so far. In-store sales people were knowledgeable and pleasant, and delivery was on time as scheduled and nicely done. The unit is very quiet (I do not have the ice maker connected).

This review is about Best Buy customer service. My frig went out and I originally ordered this frig from Sears because I had purchased other appliances from them. In 10 days they scheduled two delivery times and didn't show up either time. I was so furious, screwing around with them for ten days, and no frig, so I cancelled it. I called Best Buy and spoke with a very nice and professional salesman. I told him what I wanted and we completed the transaction over the phone, I didn't need to go into the store. I appreciated that he didn't try to up sell me a service contract. A delivery time was set and the delivery guys showed up on time, professional and helpful. I give them 5 stars. Spent time showing me the features, and the whole thing only took a few minutes. I like the frig very much, and will contact Best Buy for future appliance purchases. Thank you Best Buy.

    Stay away from LG

My 6 year old refrigerator is useless now, and it has been 3 weeks (and counting) that I've been waiting on LG to take care of it as it is still under warranty. 3 weeks ago my fridge/freezer stopped working (it was warm inside). I got an outside repair person to look at it for $70 who told me the evaporator unit died and had leaked out all the coolant. The part was still under warranty (year 6 of a 7 year warranty) so I needed to get LG to take care of it. I called LG, told them the part I needed to have replaced. Their technician could not come to my house for a week and 2 days. So we sat for 1 1/2 weeks with no refrigerator/freezer, and we are a family of 5 When the technician arrived, 2 minutes into the $125 visit, he told me that we needed to replace the evaporator unit (which I already knew and told them a wee prior) and that the part was discontinued and out of stock. So - basically, we have a totally dead fridge. He told me that they would buy the refrigerator back from me (original price about $1,500) but it would take 5 days to process the paperwork. We couldn't go another week without a refrigerator so we bought a Whirlpool from Best Buy (love Best Buy, great people!). After the 5 day wait to be reimbursed for our useless 6 year old fridge, LG never called. So I contacted them to see what is happening, and they say they will give us $600 and are NOT going to haul away the dead fridge. Huh? So 6 years ago we spent $1,500 on a new fridge, and we paid $195 on servicing it and will need to now pay to have it hauled away and disposed of, and the warranty pay out is $600. OH - and it is Monday and they don't cut checks until Fridays, so you guessed it, we have to wait yet another week for our check. WHAT A JOKE!

I wanted a stylish looking french door refrigerator that was of good quality at a good price, but it also had to be narrow enough to fit in my small kitchen space. Unlike most people, I also didn't want all the fancy gadgets outside the door b/c I heard they often need repairs. When I saw this and read the other positive reviews, I was sold! I've only had it for a couple months, but I love it, it looks great in my new kitchen and no issues so far.

We had a tough time finding a French Door fridge that would fit into our small space. After a ton of research, we settled onto this LG model. It's so great! It fits perfectly into our small space, but gives us the ease of a French Door model. We also love the ice maker. However, I was bummed that the black color was back ordered, but the stainless has been fine. We keep finger prints at bay with white vinegar and a soft cloth. Highly recommend to anyone looking at this fridge!

Had this refrigerator for over a year and loved it. A seal on the door broke and the part was back ordered. They replaced the unit, with a brand new one and the new unit vibrates. We have tried leveling it and it still vibrates. When you open the doors the shelves on the door vibrate as well. LG came out and told us to put shims behind the shelves. Love Best Buy very disappointed in LG service. The new one is 2 months old. Wish they have just replaced the door on the old one that didn’t vibrate

Can't get out of it's own way

The doors don't open nearly as wide as one would assume -- seriously! (testing on the showroom floor, I thought the doors were just bumping into the neighboring refrigerators). So, combined with "gallon-size" shelving on the doors, accessing the refrigerator compartment even with both doors open is like entering a claustrophobic tunnel. The doors are always in the way. Also, something funky in the way the flipper seals work, allowing one to open the doors in any order, makes it easy to accidentally not get the doors closed properly even when consciously trying. Storage is over-structured, so actual usable space is much less than its cu ft would imply, functionally feels about 1/3 less than the 20cu ft one it replaced. Sending this one back. French doors are more glitz than function.

    Really loud fridge

I can't say that there's a whole lot of good things about this fridge. There are 2 things that i do not like about this fridge; 1. It's really loud. Every time the compressor is running, it makes a really annoying buzzing noise. 2. The door doesn't really close without fully assisting it all the way. Other fridges are able to close by lightly swinging the door, but not this one.

Needed a narrow fridge to fit a galley kitchen, and width was okay. However, it is deeper than the old fridge (which I should have taken into consideration). I would have preferred a smaller freezer, although I know the contemporary American lifestyle seems to revolve around frozen pizzas and microwave dinners. That said, neither the fridge nor the freezer are efficiently designed to maximize usable space. Finally, ours broke down about a month out of warranty. The prior fridge (not LG) lasted more than ten years, and my fridge before that was still going strong after 20. Pretty, but quality leaves something to be desired...

This refrigerator has been such an upgrade over our previous frig. We need something that fit in a tight space and this one fit perfectly. But the frig has even more room than our previous one. Highly recommend.
