Compressor seems to have lasted for only 4 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this for four years (since July 2020), and now, neither the cooler nor refrigerator is cooling (October 2024). Chatted with LG, they immediately assumed it was the compressor. They told me a repair person will call on Monday, so I will be going more than a few days without a working fridge/freezer due to this occurring on the weekend. Hopefully the repair people will actually call.

Known issue with faulty compressor!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please do soem research and do not buy. There is a well known issue with the compressor on this and other LG refrigerator models. It is impossible to get a repair. I have spent hours on the phone with LG only for them to tell me that my case has been escalated but there are no available repair appointments. Apparently there are many many people in my same situation. There is a very widely known issue with LG refrigerators and even a pending class action lawsuit. You can google LG refrigerator compressor and you will find a plethora of information. I bought the entire suite of LG products and realize that this was a huge mistake.

Very bad experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The compressor for this refrigerator died within 4 years of purchase. LG agreed to replace it free of cost as it is within warranty but they have extremely bad service centers. The service centers do not get back in the stipulated 24-48 hrs. It’s been 3 days and I am still waiting for someone to tell me when a technician will come to fix the refrigerator. In this heat and with kids, it is so difficult to live without a refrigerator. Extremely bad experience with LG. Will never buy another LG appliances. :(

Posted .Hi there, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this frustrating experience with your refrigerator's compressor failure. I can only imagine how inconvenient and stressful it must be to be without a working refrigerator, especially during this time of year when it's hot and you have a family to care for.
First and foremost, I want to acknowledge your frustration with our service centers' response time. I apologize that we didn't meet our own service standards, and I understand that it's unacceptable to wait 3 days for a technician to be scheduled. I can imagine how difficult it must be for you to wait for a solution while dealing with the heat and the inconvenience it's causing your daily life.
I want to assure you that I'm taking your feedback seriously and will escalate your issue to our service team immediately. Please reach out to us on social media @LGUSSupport so we can help you further. ^Cris

Highly disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure if they sent me a refurbished fridge, but the inside is full of scuff marks. It is so small that it won't even hold a gallon of milk without totally removing the second shelf, because the shelf holes don't line up. I'm definitely not happy.

Unreliable, Broke Within 4 Years!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Refrigerator is dead after less than 4 years of ownership. Repairs will likely cost over $400, up to $800. The repairs are unlikely to be covered by the short manufacturer's warranty. Also, Best Buy's protection plan starts at time of purchase, not when manufacturer's warranty expires. The repair guys said that he sees LG, Samsung and Kenmore fridges all the time due to parts breaking. Part is on back-order because so many of these fridges are breaking. Save your money!!

Compressor issues have not been resolved!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After three years of use this fridge stopped cooling and freezing. I have an appointment for repair service scheduled for next week thru LG's warranty. It was a time consuming process dealing with their service agents. Think twice before buying an LG refrigerator.
