    I really like this fridge and 2 ice options and quick easy door. Takes a bit to get used to but love it. I wish the left side door has better shelves as in bigger but that is my only ugh on this item.

    Great product but both ice makers were not working until I called LG and they guided me how to reset them,. they are working now, The only problem I see is that it makes noise a couple of times every hour. Either the compressor or the defrost mode or something keeps grinding and then stops. I never heard that from any refrigerator I have owned.

    This refrigerator has so many compartments that make life easy. I like the fact that it has a separate area for my beverages. It also includes a see through glass on the front door that allows me to access the area without opening the main door. I am really happy with my purchase.

    Some issues with the ice makers

    We’ve had this refrigerator for 2.5 yrs now and during most of the time we’ve had it, the ice maker in the door gets jammed with a clump of ice fairly frequently. Another issue popped up recently where the ball ice that the lower freezer makes is also getting clumped up. We keep that at 2 degrees and the frig part at 37 degrees. The lower freezer’s ice maker has also started to make a horrible knocking sound. It has woken me up in the middle of the night and we sleep on a separate floor from the refrigerator. It is also very slow to dispense ice. Another thing I didn’t like is that soon after we bought it, I noticed that one of the shelves in the door of the ice maker side of the frig was cracked. I think this is likely due to how heavy that door is. It often slams shut accidentally and I think the force of the weight of the door is what cracked it. The things I like though are that the front of the frig still looks practically flawless after 2.5 yrs due to the no-scratch surface. The inner door compartment on the right side is also super handy and we use that area the most as well as the middle drawer. Make sure you keep the side and back vents clear of dust! It stopped cooling for awhile and we thought it was toast but once we cleared those, it was fine again.

    Mixed feelings about this refrigerator. We have the black stainless and love the look. We also like the convertible compartment - its where we keep the most used frozen goods (bagels, fruit for smoothies, pints of ice cream :-), The reason for giving only two stars is the ice makers and the vibrations. The in-door ice maker is poorly designed. The ice tray deposits the ice on one side of the bucket and the small cubes bind there. About once per week I have to open the door to dislodge the clump. To do this you have to use the plastic handle that is surely not made for this frequent of use and will fail before too long. The real issue is the craft ice maker in the bottom freezer. We like the size and are not concerned about the slow pace. We empty the tray into a plastic bag frequently so always have some on hand. No, the issue is that it has been replaced twice already (in less than a year) with another service scheduled for Tuesday 17 Aug. The problem is that the ice balls will get stuck in the mold and the unit will not recognize that. Instead it tries to fill the molds and the water spills into the tray. There it freezes binding all of the balls in to a solid mass. Poor design. Poor engineering - using plastic gears to dislodge heavy ice - is a failure waiting to happen. So far all done under warranty but we're thankful we bought the insurance plan as this is likely to be a recurring issue. The other issue is the vibration of the left hand door is terrible. I think that it is tied to the ice maker as well as I haven't noticed it since I turned off the maker because the water filter will not seat - something else for the technician to address on Tuesday. So all in all the negatives out weigh the positives and I cannot recommend this unit. At nearly $4000 it should be flawless. This is far from it.

    Worthless Junk

    This is by far the worst fridge I have ever owned, used, seen, or heard about. You would think that a fridge with a hefty $4400 MSRP should work well and last a good while, but apparently LG disagrees. After just under a year, my unit went down with a total-unit cooling failure. That was over a month ago. Technicians have been to my home three times in the last month to perform warranty repairs, and today is the third time (so far!) their repairs have failed. They will have to come out a fourth time next week, at which point I will have been without refrigeration for a month and a half (again, just so far). This is wildly unacceptable at virtually any price point, and certainly a ridiculous joke for $4k. I will absolutely not be purchasing any more LG appliances in the future, and urge you not to suffer the same headaches I have. LG is utter and total TRASH. Please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this completely worthless hunk of junk; buy a different brand!

    I had ice maker issues after a year. In the next year I began to have fan issues. LG offers ***one*** year parts and labor, so please be aware that when your fridge starts failing in the first few years of use, LG will do nothing for you except suggest some local repair people.

    DEFECTIVE COMPRESSORS!

    This review probably won't say verified because we bought the fridge under my Mother in Law's account but none the less LG SUCKS. We bought this fridge in February and by July it broke. I read all the complaints about the compressor but figured with a 10 year warranty we could take the risk. Little did I know I'd be dealing with this issue 6 months after spending $4k+ on a fridge and LG has the worst customer service ever. It has been TWO MONTHS without a working fridge, countless vendor repair meetings at our house through a third party, multiple 30 min- 1 hour phone calls a week with LG (everytime having to re-explain the whole story and issue). They even attempted to fix it and that compressor was also defective and made our fridge completely not work (before it was at least slightly cool). We lost all groceries and had to buy a mini fridge to get by. Now after 10 weeks we are finally getting approved for an "exchange". We shall see how long it takes Best Buy Corporate to get that to our house and how long this one lasts before going out on us. I am extremely worried we will have to go through this all again very soon. Now a days fridge's are more expensive and don't last.

    I own one of these. Bought it 6 months ago. The "craft ice-maker" is already being replaced. (Repairman told me he replaces 2-3 everyday) Now the black finish (just black coating over stainless steel) is peeling, NOT scratched, on the doors. LG's idea of warranty is sending paint ! This will probably end up in our garage.
